- Abstract:
- Nowadays the popularity of renewable energy is increasing due to its clean and inexhaustible nature. Also, if the local potential of each area is used, there is no cost to connect to electricity network. But these energies have low reliability due to their oscillating nature. To solve this problem, it is proposed to use systems based on several sources of energy called hybrid systems. In this research, a mathematical model is proposed to design a renewable hybrid system that minimizes the present value of costs while maximizing system’s reliability. To consider the uncertainty in the solar radiation data and energy demand, Bertsimas’s robust model is applied to our model. In which variables are the area of the solar panels, the area covered by the turbines and the capacity of the battery. By solving the model, results show that the use of the hybrid wind-solar-battery system has lower costs compared to wind-battery and solar-battery systems. Also, by analyzing the model based on the outputs of the deterministic model, it is shown that if the nominal values of the parameters are used, the system will not be able to provide the desired reliability. The occurrence of uncertainties in the model, causes increasing the load demand and also reducing the amount of solar radiation. Therefore, if the outputs from the deterministic model are used, the loss of power supply will increase from the predetermined value
