  8. Ambient intelligence is a new paradigm in human computer interaction in which smart actor interact with the surrounding environment and be helped in to reach their goals. One of the main principles in smart environments is the interaction between user and the system. Better interaction leads to a better user satisfaction. In explicit interaction, context plays an important role in interaction quality. One of the main parameter in interaction is the environment complexity. Environment complexity itself consists of other factor such as size of the room, number of devices, density of devices, size of the devices and etc. In this study, we have investigate the effect of two factor, environment complexity (low, high) and user interface type(physical, 2D UI, 3DUI) on object selection performance. We have examined object selection time, users’ tap error and map error while doing the experimental tasks. Results shows that difference in average object selection time, errors were significant. Meaning that the 3D user interface is more efficient than other UI types and is more efficient in more complex room. Thus, the interaction of two factors UI type and environment complexity, UI Type and environment complexity had significant effect on object selection performance
