  7. Abstract:
  8. Reprocessing of different industrial and agricultural wastes become very Important in today’s world because it reduces the environmental pollution arising from waste accumulation as well as providing cheap and sustainable raw material for industries.Among different wastes, sugarcane bagasse is produced in large quantities in Iran specially in Khuzestan province. Bagasse is mainly consists of 3 natural polymers;cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin and can be used for production of chipboard and MDFs, activated carbon, bioethanol and acid citric The purpose of this research is the synthesis of porous nitrogen-doped carbon materials from bagasse wastes and investigate the use of these compounds as adsorbent for removal of Cr(VI) from aqueous medias and also fabrication of doublelayer supercapacitors. For this purpose, first the sugarcane bagasse was powdered and then delignified by alkali method. In second step, delignified sugarcane bagasse, acrylamide, calcium acetate and methylene bis acrylamide was added to distilled water with certain ratios and heated to 80 oC. Then a little amount of ammonium persulfate was added to the medium as a radical initiator and the heat continued until a 3 dimensional hydrogel was formed. In third step, the obtained hydrogel was placed in a tube furnace under N2 atmosphere and pyrolyzed at 650 oC for 2 hours. Then the carbonaceous product was washed with 1 M solution of HCl to remove of CaCO3 templates from carbon. In fourth step, the resultant porous carbonaceous was impregnated with KOH and then activated at 800 oC for 1 hour.In the last step of this research, different instrumental analysis like FE-SEM, CHNS,Raman, BET and TGA was used for characterization of obtained products and intermediates. For further analysis of electrochemical properties, Cyclic-Voltammetry, Galvanostatic charge-discharge and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy was employed. Also the UV-Visible spectroscopy technique was used for determination of Cr(VI) concentration and calculation of adsorption capacity
