- Abstract:
- Many of gas condensate reservoirs, including rich gas and lean gas, face with fast well productivity decline. The origin of this problem is condense accumulation around the well bore which known as condensate blockage. There are different condensate blockage mitigation methods, one of which is acid fracturing that is suitable for tight carbonate reservoirs with low KH. Acid fracturing simulation is high difficult and have not been undertaken a study that can adopt with experimental and field test results, so researchers usually use practical method and many developed software in this area use correlation form laboratory data. However, the literature show that experimental results can just use for specify rock, well, and reservoir which means they mismatch with other practical work. There are many reason for this matter including rock heterogeneity, wormhole creation, fracture roughness, and varied pattern for fracture conductivity and length. Therefore, simplification and reduce the detail of acid fracture property such as roughness in order to find conductivity and fracture length lead to large error for PI estimation especially for gas condensate reservoirs which is high sensitive to phase behavior around the wellbore. The purpose of this research is acid fracture modeling in gas condensate reservoir simulation with a more realistic method, by means of special acid fracture simulator to find out the effect of condensate blockage, PI improvement, condensate saturation profile, and its variation. Accordingly, we utilized EDFM model in order to import discrete fracture induced by acid fracturing to reservoir simulator. Furthermore, we use dynamic up scaling method to export fine grid of fracture model to coarse grid of reservoir model. The acid fracture simulator is connected to compositional simulator with one way explicit coupling. The validation of this approach is done by comparing the results with fine grid model. Consequently, the accuracy, robustness, and runtime of this approach compare with other model like LGR, direct fracture conductivity, and Skin parameter. Finally, the sensitivity analysis is done by changing acid fracturing variables such as diverting agent effect
