  7. Abstract:
  8. Considering the increase of particulate matters in the last three decades in Tehran, many endeavores have been made in order to determine and recognize the contributing factors in the production of particulate matters. Although emission source of particulate matters is available in the form of emission inventories, these emission sources are not accurate and they need to be modified. By modeling the air pollution we can determine the relationship of pollution source and their effect on air quality.Modeling air pollution helps us to determine the relationship of pollution sources and their effect on air quality. Air pollution managers use models to determine the contribution of emission sources in air pollution. Additionally, they utilize the results of modeling to design effective strategies to reduce air pollutants. In the present study, by modeling particluate matters and other pollutants and using their observation data, it has been endeavored to modify the emission sources of Tehran. According to the results of this study, in emission sources of EC, surrounding areas have important contribution to the emission. Furthermore, in the emission of EC, we see a dramatic reduction in the transportation sector. In other emission sectors, including residential, industry, waste and energy, the contribution of emission sources has been reduced. Also, in emission of CO, the contribution of surrounding areas have been determined. Moreover, the contribution of four sectors, including transportation, waste, residential and energy have been declined. For NO2, the contribution of surrounding areas has been determined. Additionally, the contribution of transportation, residential, industry and energy has been declined. Finally, the emission source of SO2 pollutant indicates that the emission of surrounding areas is approximately equal to zero. In addition to that, the contribution of three sources, including residential, industry and energy have been declined. With the accurate investigation of surrounding areas, we understand that the contribution of the northwest, east and southeast in the emission of pollutants is significant
