  8. The human body normally has two functioning kidneys, while only one of them is sufficient to have a healthy life. However, for those patients having no functioning kidney, transplantation is the most effective treatment. Although deceased donors have been usually used as the main source for kidney donation in many countries, there are several cases focusing on living kidney donation to compensate for the shortage in supply and to reduce the patient waiting time for treatment. Because of this potential, many studies have been conducted to optimize the non-clinical issues of kidney transplant waiting lists. Notwithstanding employing the financial incentives for living kidney donation is illegal in most countries, there is no rule in Iran to prohibit financial incentives for living donors. Lack of this rule has caused many patients to pay money to a living donor to incentivize him/her for donation. Hence, this research aims to propose a model for improving the condition of waiting lists by utilizing the kidney exchange chains and financial incentives at the same time. The proposed model attempts to apportion the paid money among the incompatible pairs of a domino chain according to the characteristics of their donated and received kidneys. In this case, instead of one patient, all patients of a domino chain pay the financial incentive, and they apportion the cost among themselves according to the characteristics of the donated and the received kidney of each pair. To this end, this research utilizes a prediction model based on the multivariate Cox regression survival analysis to calculate the probability of graft survival in each transplantation. Afterwards, the utility of each transplant is calculated by a utility function, and the cost is apportioned by a mechanism that utilizes the utility of donated and received kidneys for each incompatible pair of the chain
