- Abstract:
- In this research, some inhibitors based on quaternary monoammonium salts and quaternary diammonium salts containing different anions were synthesized to prevent formation of methane gas hydrates, and they were characterized using 1H and 13C NMR spectra, IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis and mass spectrometry. Then, the synthesized compounds were used in an autoclave under 128 bar pressure under controlled isothermal conditions to determine retention time considering displacement amount of the gas hydrate temperature- pressure chart and also to determine subcooling of the samples using HW Hydrate software. According to the results T3, T4 and TBAHF compounds in their pure form, not only facilitate the formation of gas hydrates but also are an effective inhibitor in the presence of trace amounts of monoethylenglycohole These results confirmed the importance of the number of the ammonium functional groups and the type of the anion in the compound. Furthermore, the comparison between the function of these compounds with other compounds as promoter and inhibitor in previous articles, is made
