  7. Abstract:
  8. In the field of estimating the expected performance of structures under the excitation of earthquakes of different magnitudes, the Endurance time method has been introduced as a fast method in recent years. What is needed now in this method is to study the assumptions and definitions used in this method, to choose more logical definitions, to unify them, and to prove the statistics of this method in the overlapping and generalizable range of different structures. For this purpose, in this dissertation, different definitions have been evaluated in the process of using the Endurance time method and IDA. The results of different definitions for the target time equivalent to each earthquake intensity in the ET method and definitions for the expected response value and the methods of scaling of records in the IDA method have been compared. And different intensities have been done. Also, at the end, the reliability of the Endurance time method was confirmed in the analysis of concrete frames with different variations using selected definitions. On the other hand, with the increasing tendency of almost all branches of engineering to the statistical and probabilistic approach and decision-making based on it, the number of structural analysis implementations to estimate the realization increases. Each realization represents a possible performance output for the physical model, considering a combination of the probable values of each uncertainty criterion. As a result, the need for methods that can solve the differential equations governing physical models more quickly or estimate the desired physical responses is much greater than ever. The need for these decisions in the developing country of Iran with a large area with high seismicity and its own semi-engineering construction types is a double need. The question is whether the Endurance time method, which was designed from the beginning to estimate the expected value of the structural response, can also be included in the probabilistic seismic hazard analysis? Solving this problem is, in fact, the main goal of this dissertation. In this project, by introducing a relation for the target time equal to each intensity level in the Endurance time method and presenting a methodology in the application of this new definition, a reliable method without increasing the computational cost is developed for this purpose, Which has enabled the Endurance time method to evaluate the probability of seismic demand with a computational cost about 300 times less than the conventional incremental dynamics method
