  7. Abstract:
  8. With the growing population and the development of human societies, the demand for energy increases. And it is expected that for the next few decades, fossil fuels will continue to be recognized as the main sources of energy supply and used to meet energy demand. One of the biggest disadvantages of fossil fuel consumption is the emission of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, which raises the Earth's temperature and has devastating effects on the climate and the lives of its inhabitants. On the other hand, fossil fuels are recognized as non-renewable sources and their lifespan is only for the next few decades. Today, one of the major concerns of societies, especially in developed countries, is how to manage and consume energy resources so that in addition to meeting energy demand, less pollution enters the environment. Therefore, sources of energy consumption and production, as well as sources of carbon dioxide emissions should be identified in order to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels and carbon dioxide emissions by optimizing their consumption schedule. The purpose of this project is to design and plan a multi-carrier microgrid to achieve a low carbon community. In this regard, first, using carbon dioxide emission modeling methods in energy distribution systems, a suitable method for estimating the amount of carbon distribution in energy systems is proposed. This is one of the main necessities of conducting planning studies with the aim of reducing carbon emissions. Next, by defining the appropriate decision variables as well as proposing comprehensive decision criteria, a suitable planning method for multi-carrier systems at the level of a distribution network microgrid is proposed.By implementing the proposed method in the sample studied in this study, in exchange for changing the price of carbon emission fines, the output power of generators is changed by up to 20% to reduce costs and pollution in the environment. Also, by introducing and implementing some relevant relationships, the amount of carbon across the network is calculated and tracked. These carbon-based planning studies in the distribution network can provide energy decision makers with a comprehensive view of the impact of different strategies on emissions
