  7. Abstract:
  8. Many of the existing or under-construction buildings in Iran and the world belong to masonry materials buildings. These buildings are more popular among owners and employers in non-urban, rural, and small towns than in large metropolitan areas. In addition to residential buildings, current schools and office buildings in Iran have been built or are being built using this building system. The most important factors in acceptance of these building systems are economic matters, availability of materials, simplicity of production technology of building blocks, and lack of any dependence on skilled technical personnel to build these structures. Experiences of past earthquakes show the very brittle and unfavorable performance of masonry buildings due to low strength and ductility against lateral load. Various methods of improving and strengthening masonry structures are presented, each of which has its own advantages and disadvantages. In this research, these methods have been thoroughly reviewed, and finally, a new method is presented to eliminate the downsides of existing improvement methods. As a result of using this method, it increases the lateral load-bearing strength of the wall, increases the wall ductility, increases the overall resistance of the building structure against earthquakes and lateral loads, reduces losses and damages due to collapse and damage of the brick wall, reduces costs associated with repairing the structure And finally increase the safety of the masonry structure
