  7. Abstract:
  8. Nonlinear transmission line (NLTL) a guiding structure contains nonlinear elements. For discrete NLTLs, this structure is periodically loaded with nonlinear elements. In the structure of this line nonlinear elements such as ceramic capacitors, nonlinear magnetic elements, vector diodes, Mos transistors, etc can be used. With the rapid development of semiconductor devices and microwave band systems, the demand for implementation of NLTLs has increased. These lines provide wide band-width, cut-off frequencies over the hundreds of GHz and picosecond rise time for various systems.Among the applications of NLTL, the generation of high power RF pulses has attracted the most attention. In this application, a powerful rectangular waveform excites NLTL. Gradually evolved to an oscillatory pulse while propagating through the network, and finally, in the form of a high power RF pulse, is injected to the load. Of all the high-power radio pulse generators based on solid-state technology, NLTLs have the best specifications.Despite wide attention paid to NLTLs, no analysis has been performed on the generation of radio pulses from NLTLs based on MOSFETs. In this research, we first present an analytical and new relationship for the nonlinear capacitor of the MOSFET. Then we will get acquainted with the analysis that describes all aspects of the NLTL based on the MOSFET, including the characteristics of the generated soliton pulses, matching efficiency, reflection coefficient, optimal load, etc. We will also investigate the effect of losses on the NLTL line based on the MOSFET. In this research, by simulation a NLTL, we will also show the accuracy of the analytical results. The analysis presented in this thesis applicable in various applications of NLTLs like those in pulse compressors, oscillators, modulators, narrow pulse generators and powerful RF pulse generators.
