  7. Abstract:
  8. Due to the replacement of fossil fuel with cleaner products, the reduction of fuel consumption in transportation until 2045, the excessive production of fuel oil in refineries and the growth of feed demand from downstream chemical units, have made countries to upgrade their refineries or construct Petro-refineries. The Petro-refinery is a new generation of refinery and its main purpose is to supply chemicals to downstream units. The products of these units will have more valuable than fuel refineries. Steam cracking unit, aromatic unit and propane dehydrogenation unit are important units that are in Petro-refineries. In this research, all refinery units were technically and economically analyzed. In this regard, all possible alternatives were drawn schematically in a superstructure representation. In the next steps, HYSYS version 11 software was used for simulation and economic calculations, and GAMS software was used for modeling. To solve this model, the production cost, which was non-linear, was converted into a linear function with a high accuracy. Binary variables were used to express logical relations in GAMS software. Therefore, GAMS software solved a MIP model by the CPLEX solution method. Based on the obtained optimal structure, steam cracking, BTX, delayed coking and FCC-TMP units were selected. This structure is able to convert 34,174 mass percent of feed into chemicals. This unit has high flexibility and is more resistant to market changes. In this research, SIRRI crude oil was monitored
