- Abstract:
- Phenomena such as will and volition, the emergence of qualities, internal and external feelings are the main problems related to consciousness. Consciousness is one of the oldest and, of course, most complex problems in science, and scientists are striving to provide a suitable explanation for this problem, but a complete answer has not yet been presented. Quantum consciousness is also an attempt to provide a suitable answer using the theory of quantum mechanics as the most fundamental scientific theory regarding the behavior of matter. In this area, the Orch OR theory by Penrose-Hameroff, the Henry P. Stap’s theory of quantum consciousness, and the Eccles-Beck’s theory of quantum consciousness are comprehensive approaches that have attempted to fully address this problem and take steps toward its resolution. The Eccles-Beck’s theory of quantum consciousness is one of the most important quantum consciousness theories, claiming the presence of quantum effects in the process of activating the exocytosis process (known as the quantum trigger mechanism) and describing the involvement of “psychons” as mental factors in the quantum state reduction process to play a role in the physical process of the brain. However, the way in which this influence and the complete freedom of action of the psychons leads to explicit disruption of quantum probability distribution that it is incompatible with standard quantum theory, and of course, lacks experimental compatibility. By making changes in the way psychons influence, we have discussed the indirect change of the quantum probability distribution by psychons. Furthermore, we have performed a simulation of the proposed modified model and compared its results with what happens in reality. The modified theory avoids the issues of previous theoretical and experimental concerns and also demonstrates greater empirical compatibility, providing a better context for developing the theory and making more accurate predictions.
