  7. Abstract:
  8. The aim of this laboratory research is to investigate the effect of wind on pollution dispersion in stagnant water environments with the presence of emergent plants under different scenarios, in order to gain a better understanding of the interaction between wind, Aquatic plants, and stagnant water, and to utilize the results for improving the quality of water resources. In this research, a nylon belt was used to model the stems, and a centrifugal blower with adjustable speed was used to create wind flow in the flume, with the wind speed controlled by a digital anemometer. The experiments in this research are categorized, and image processing methods are used for their analysis. Firstly, the wind profile was obtained to ensure the influence of the plant area on the flow regime in the flume. Secondly, the oscillation amplitude of the stems was obtained, which has a direct relationship with wind speed. Thirdly, the variations of lateral dispersion coefficient with changes in water depth, velocity, and plant area density were investigated, showing that the lateral dispersion coefficient has a direct relationship with plant density and an inverse relationship with wind speed. The effect of increasing water depth on the lateral dispersion coefficient does not show a constant trend
