- Abstract:
- The interaction of flames with various field emissions, such as acoustic waves, is one of the most fascinating engineering issues in the field of combustion systems. Investigating this topic can lead to a better understanding of the factors affecting the phenomenon of combustion instability. To this end, this study investigates the interaction of acoustic waves with a counterflow premixed flame using methane-based fuel and a flame acoustic excitation tester. The effects of pure hydrogen injection into the base fuel on the dynamic behavior and response of the counterflow premixed flame under acoustic excitation were also investigated using image acquisition and analysis with a developed code and a photomultiplier tube (PMT). Researchers have mainly studied the combustion characteristics and pollutant emissions of methane-hydrogen gas mixtures, such as the effects of hydrogen addition on the laminar flame propagation speed, flame flashback, strain rate, and NO production. However, there have been few reports on the effects of hydrogen content on the dynamic response characteristics of partially premixed flames under acoustic excitation. To fill this gap, this study will investigate the dynamic response characteristics of partially premixed counterflow flames using a methane-hydrogen mixture
