- Abstract:
- With the ever-increasing expansion of the fifth generation telecommunication networks, achieving high efficiency for the power sources used in these networks becomes important due to their average power and wide use. For this reason, different and strict standards have been defined for efficiency. 80 plus is a certification program that aims to promote the efficient use of energy in power supplies including computers, servers and telecommunications applications. The highest level of this standard is called 80 plus titanium. This standard defines the minimum acceptable efficiency in different loads, which for example is equal to 96% in 50% load. The power supplies consist of two layers of rectifier and DC to DC converter, and such high efficiency means more than 98% efficiency in each layer, which is very difficult to achieve. On the other hand, reducing the size and cost of manufacturing power electronic converters by increasing the switching frequency has always been desirable, but increasing the frequency increases the switching losses and reduces the efficiency. Achieving these two goals at the same time is a challenge that is possible only by using transistors with a wide band gap and new circuit topologies. In this research, after examining the types of rectifier circuits with power factor correction (PFC), a suitable topology has been proposed for this application, and to verify the proper performance of the proposed rectifier, the circuit and its control system have been built for a 1 kW power supply and It has been tested
