  7. Abstract:
  8. One of the important issues that has been the focus of various researchers in the interpretation of in-situ test results over the past decades is the effect of soil moisture content and degree of saturation on in-situ test results. To date, few methods have been presented for interpreting in-situ test results in unsaturated soils. In this research, in order to model the stress-strain behavior of unsaturated soils, modified Mohr-Coulomb (MC), Barcelona Basic (BB) and Sun models are implemented into FLAC software (which is based on finite difference method) by coding with FISH language. Then, the pressuremeter test, plate load test and cone penetration test are numerically simulated in FLAC software, and the effect of different unsaturated soil parameters on the results is investigated. By performing several numerical analyses of the pressuremeter test based on the BBM constitutive model, a relationship is presented between the stress corresponding to the 10% cavity wall strain in the pressuremeter (P10) and the parameters of cohesive unsaturated soils that can be used to interpret the results of this test. By performing numerical analyses of the plate load test and using the Monte Carlo reliability method, the effect of the uncertainty of the suction parameter in unsaturated sandy soils on the response of the plate load test is investigated. Using the numerical analysis of the cone penetration test based on the modified Mohr-Coulomb behavior model and nonlinear regression analysis, relationships between cone tip resistance (qc), relative density (Dr), and mean effective stress (p') are proposed to estimate the friction angle of unsaturated sands. Using the numerical analysis of the cone penetration test based on the Sun constitutive model, relationships between the cone tip resistance and the parameters of the Sun constitutive model are proposed, which can be used to es timate the parameters of unsaturated silty soils
