- Abstract:
- One of the problems in today's world is water and wastewater treatment, so to solve this concern, it is necessary to research and develop existing methods in this field. Adsorption is one of the separation methods, and in this research, nanoparticles of porous and stable metal-organic frameworks from the Zr-base category called MOF-808 are used. The desired pollutant for separation is methyl orange anionic dye. The absorption ability of MOF-808 in color separation and its influencing factors such as temperature, adsorbent concentration, salt concentration and the number of times it is used are investigated. The results showed that the synthesized MOF-808 is a square octahedral crystal, which has a high specific surface area of about 890 m2/g, and the dye removal efficiency at low concentrations is about 90%. Then, ultrafiltration membranes are manufactured and investigated. PVDF is chosen as a suitable hydrophobic polymer for these membranes. The results of examining the permeation rate and rejection percentage in both the raw membrane and the membrane containing MOF-808 showed that with the increase in MOF-808 loading on the membrane, the permeation rate increases and the rejection percentage decreases in general. SEM images of the membrane have a regular structure and finger holes. After that, the hydrophilicity of the new membrane is investigated and the results showed that the hydrophilicity has increased to a suitable extent
