  7. Abstract:
  8. Due to the special place of energy in today's world, many researches are being done in the field of heat recovery. One of the thermal recovery methods is the organic Rankine cycle. For this reason, industries such as steel and iron, which produce a lot of hot current, have a good potential to use the organic Rankine cycle. Two important challenges in using the organic Rankine cycle are the selection of process fluid. In this research, thermo-economic analysis has been done on 107 process fluids and five configurations. The results show that fluids with high critical temperature and pressure result in higher thermodynamic efficiency, and on the other hand, the configuration of the organic Rankine cycle with the recovery converter has a better economic efficiency than other cycles. At the end, with cyclopentane fluid and organic Rankine cycle with regenerator, thermodynamic efficiency and ROI of 41.22 and 20% can be achieved, respectively
