  7. Abstract:
  8. Today, blockchain technology has attracted the attention of many traditional supply chains. The implementation of blockchain in the automotive industry supply chain can enhance data security, privacy, anonymity, traceability, accountability, integrity, robustness, transparency, reliability, and authentication. The number of blockchain platforms in the market is rapidly growing, but choosing the appropriate platform is a strategic and critical decision that requires the evaluation and selection of right criteria at first. Therefore, this research aims to assess blockchain technology in a supply chain using a multi-criteria decision-making approach. This study is a new approach to identify the evaluation of criteria and the impact of criteria on each other, as well as choosing the best blockchain platform based on those criteria through MCDM methods. This study has done a very comprehensive literature review to select the most important criteria and sub-criteria. The experts involved in the study are specialists in the automotive industry, supply chain, and blockchain technology, selected through purposive sampling. In this research, blockchain platform selection criteria were identified through a literature review, and to examine the causal relationships among the criteria and determine their importance weights, the fuzzy DANP technique was used. The fuzzy TOPSIS technique was employed to rank the blockchain platforms. According to the research findings, four main criteria—security, technical and operational features, platform recognition, and interoperability with the supply chain—along with 16 sub-criteria, were identified as important in selecting a blockchain platform for the supply chain. The results of the causal relationship analysis showed that the criteria of security and technical and operational features are causal in nature, directly affecting the criteria of platform recognition and interoperability with the supply chain. Also, the criterion of the interoperability with the supply chain and its sub-criteria were identified as the most important criteria. In the following, all the causal relationships and also how the sub-criteria influence each other were examined. The results of the blockchain platform ranking showed that the Hyperledger Fabric platform, based on the identified criteria, is the most suitable platform for implementation in the automotive supply chain
