  7. Abstract:
  8. The wave rotor is an emerging technology aimed at enhancing the efficiency of propulsion systems and gas turbine engines. Its operation is based on utilizing pressure waves for gas compression, which can lead to improved efficiency and reduced fuel consumption in various systems. Given the high potential of this technology, accurate simulation and analysis of its behavior is of significant importance. The objective of this study is to perform an unsteady numerical simulation of wave rotor performance. For this purpose, a one-dimensional model based on the unsteady Euler equations has been developed, and the governing equations are discretized and solved using high-order numerical methods. In this analysis, time-dependent boundary conditions are applied to the ports, allowing investigation of the transient flow behavior inside the channels and the formation and propagation of pressure waves. For validation, the numerical model was first applied to a developed wave rotor geometry, and a grid independence study was carried out. Then, to further evaluate the accuracy and capability of the solver, simulations were performed on several wave rotor models from previous studies. The obtained results confirm the capability of the developed numerical model in predicting flow behavior and analyzing wave rotor performance
