  8. Nowadays, air defense systems can be considered as the most integral defense equip- ments. This study has focused on two major challenges in these systems, namely, guidance law and guidance lter design. In this regard, two case of utilizing measure- ments of an on-board seeker mechanism and also a ground tracker measurements are studied. In case of utilizing ground tracker measurements, a novel command to line of sight (CLOS) law is suggested taking the advantages of nested saturated feedback (NSF) strategy and a cubature Kalman lter (CKF). Expressing problem in pursuer's LOS frame and utilizing estimated variables provided by target lter, new feed-forward terms are proposed which are exact for any desired target motion in contrast with existing works. Effects of autopilot dynamics, guidance lter, and target maneuver are examined and compared with those of augmented proportional navigation (APN) law. In case of utilizing seeker measurements, a comprehensive review of existing solutions is provided. Deriving the exact kinematics of problem, the simplifying assumptions behind various solutions are elucidated. Then, a novel method for estimating LOS rates is proposed. Various challenges such as stabi- lization loop disturbances, optical sensor delay, and target maneuver are inspected. Performance improvement in overall guidance loop (in terms of reduced miss dis- tance) and performance improvement in seeker track loop control (in terms of small pointing errors) are illustrated in case of utilizing novel guidance lter design. More- over, the practical issues in stabilization loop controller design, employing an active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) scheme, are deliberately investigated
