  7. Abstract:
  8. This article provides numerical study of the flow formed by three impinging jets. The liquid film formed by these jets and its first atomization area is investigated. Due to the small time and length scale in liquid film break up phenomena, the study is done by dynamic mesh refinement, which decreases the cost very enormously. The results show that when three jets impinge in low velocities, after the sheet forms, they will merge together and after the merging point a jet will form which at the end breaks up to large drops. This collapse follows the capillary instability. The pattern of the flow is relevant to the Reynolds and Weber number of the flow and for Re numbers higher than 50 the sheet is fully unstable. The results from the numerical study show that the size and length of the formed sheet corresponds to the experimental data.
