    Abstract
    Exact recovery of a sparse solution for an underdetermined system of linear equations implies full search among all possible subsets of the dictionary, which is computationally intractable, while ℓ1 minimization will do the job when a Restricted Isometry Property holds for the dictionary. Yet, practical sparse recovery algorithms may fail to recover the vector of coefficients even when the dictionary deviates from the RIP only slightly. To enjoy ℓ1 minimization guarantees in a wider sense, a method based on a combination of full-search and ℓ1 minimization is presented.     Abstract
    In this letter, we consider the problem of recovering analysis-sparse signals from under-sampled measurements when some prior information about the support is available. We incorporate such information in the recovery stage by suitably tuning the weights in a weighted ℓ1-analysis optimization problem. Indeed, we try to set the weights such that the method succeeds with minimum number of measurements. For this purpose, we exploit the upper-bound on the statistical dimension of a certain cone to determine the weights. Our numerical simulations confirm that the introduced method with tuned weights outperforms the standard ℓ1-analysis technique. © 1994-2012 IEEE  

    Jahn-Teller Effect in Diamond Vacancy Under Stress

    Abstract
    Electron states of diamond vacancy under stress were studied theoretically. The generalized Hubbard model is used to calculate the electrons energy levels. The results shows that the degeneracy of some levels (T, with triple space degeneracy) reduced to levels with lower degeneracy (E, with double space degeneracy and A, without degeneracy). Besides this spiting of degeneracy the energy of all states changed and therefore the transition energy between these states changed too. Jahn-Teller effect was observed

    In the present work, trajectory optimization of the Dual-Arm Cam-Lock robot considering kinematic and dynamic redundancy is performed. First, the optimal control problem is solved only considering kinematic redundancy and then is solved considering dynamic redundancy. General form of the dynamic model for the system is developed using Lagrangian relations. Global optimization method is used for redundancy resolution problem. A performance index is defined based on the consumed kinetic energy and is minimized through a desired trajectory using the global optimization method. The liquid waste, which was generated during the operation of plant and concentrated in lagoon, was characterized for the development of the treatment process. The aim of this study was to recovery of uranium content of liquid waste in the lagoon. The recovery of uranium has the advantage of saving this valuable metal and the avoidance of unacceptable discarding solution to the environment.     Abstract
    The Carnot, Diesel, Otto, and Brayton power cycles are reconsidered endoreversibly in finite time thermodynamics (FTT). In particular, the thermal efficiency of these standard power cycles is compared to the well-known results in classical thermodynamics. The present analysis based on FTT modelling shows that a reduction in both the maximum and minimum temperatures of the cycle causes the thermal efficiency to increase. This is antithetical to the existing trend in the classical references. Under the assumption of endoreversibility, the relation between the efficiencies is also changed to ηCarnot > ηBrayton > ηDiesel > ηOtto, which is again very different from the corresponding classical...

    We proposed two different time-dependent modeling approaches for variation of device characteristics of perovskite solar cells under stress conditions. The first approach follows Sah-Noyce-Shockley (SNS) model based on Shockley–Read–Hall recombination/generation across the depletion width of pn junction and the second approach is based on thermionic emission model for Schottky diodes. The connecting point of these approaches to time variation is the time-dependent defect generation in depletion width (W) of the junction.     The spatial diffusion of house prices has been the subject of research for many years. Most of these studies have found a strong relationship between neighboring regions and a weaker relation between nonneighbors. This study uses changes in real house prices within Tehran at the level of municipality zones to illustrate the ripple effect by using quarterly house price data of Tehran’s twenty municipality zones since 1371 to 1391. It also aims to illustrate the heterogeneity in spatial spillovers of house prices development across space and time.     This study considers a secure network coding problem in which some secret keys are shared among legitimate nodes, and there exists an eavesdropper that is able to hear a subset of links. We show the equivalency of secure network coding under weak and strong secrecy conditions. For linear network coding, we show a stronger result: equivalency of "perfect secrecy and zero-error constraints" to "weak secrecy and ϵ-error constraints".     We present the results of 14 nights of I-band photometric monitoring of the nearby brown dwarf binary, ϵ Indi Ba and Bb. Observations were acquired over 2 months, with a total of close to 42 h of coverage at a typically high cadence of 1.4 min. At a separation of just 0.7 arcsec, we do not resolve the individual components, and so effectively treat the binary as if it were a single object. However, ϵ Indi Ba (spectral type T1) is the brightest known T-type brown dwarf, and is expected to dominate the photometric signal.     The present study investigates the evolution of γ′ precipitate microstructure in a creep damaged IN738LC superalloy during different stages of rejuvenation heat treatment cycles. Dissolution of coarsened γ′ precipitates in the creep damaged alloy occurred during different solution treatments. The precipitates that did not dissolve completely during solution treatment and those formed during subsequent cooling were considered to be as remnant and cooling precipitates respectively. The Tracking and Imaging Gamma-Ray Experiment (TIGRE) uses multi-layers of thin silicon detectors to track and measure the energy losses of Compton recoil electrons. When combined with the direction and energy of the Compton scattered γ-ray a unique incident direction for each photon event is determined.     A novel nanohybrid composite of TiO2, SiO2, γ-Fe2O3, and reduced graphene oxide (TiO2@Si:Fe:rGO) is fabricated by the sol-gel method. The properties of the coated film were examined by structural and self-cleaning analyses using simulated discoloration/soiling and roofing tests. The fabricated transparent TiO2@Si:Fe:rGO composite showed excellent photoactivity and wettability, behaving well in self-cleaning applications. The addition of SiO2 improved the crystalline structure and surface hydroxylation of TiO2 nanoparticles. γ-Fe2O3 decreased the recombination rate of e-/h+ pairs, and significantly improved photocatalytic activity under visible light.
