Analysis and data-based reconstruction of complex nonlinear dynamical systems : using the methods of stochastic processes

, Book Rahimi Tabar, M. Reza
    Springer International Publishing  2019
    Abstract
This book focuses on a central question in the field of complex systems: Given a fluctuating (in time or space), uni- or multi-variant sequentially measured set of experimental data (even noisy data), how should one analyse non-parametrically the data, assess underlying trends, uncover characteristics of the fluctuations (including diffusion and jump contributions), and construct a stochastic evolution equation?
Here, the term "non-parametrically" exemplifies that all the functions and parameters of the constructed stochastic evolution equation can be determined directly from the measured data.
The book provides an overview of methods that have been developed for the analysis of...

Experimental Investigation for Optimization of Demulsification of Water-in-oil Emulsion by Demulsifiers

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Hajipour, Zohreh (Author) ; Mohammadi, Ali Asghar (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The produced crude oil from the petroleum reservoirs usually has a value of brine (water and salt) this matter can be caused the corrosion of refinery equipment. The large part of this brine creates a stable emulsion with oil, that it couldn't be separated easily. For separation and demulsification of this emulsion, some chemical, mechanical, thermal and electrical methods can be executed. In chemical method, demulsifier materials can be added to water-in-oil emulsion. Different parameters such as properties of oil, type and concentration of demulsifiers, volume factor of water and etc., can affect the efficiency of water-in-oil emulsion separation. In this study, emulsification mechanism,...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Jalilolghadr Ardabili, Raouf (Author) ; Mohammadi, Ali Asghar (Supervisor) ; Zarenezhad, Bahman (Co-Advisor) ; Ramazani, Ahmad (Co-Advisor)
    Abstract
In past two decades, the direction of oil and gas exploration has moved towards deep water drilling. The pressure and temperature in these zones are ideal for gas hydrate formation that can cause serious and sometimes uncontrollable issues during drilling operations. Gas hydrate formation while drilling can cause problems such as occurrence of kick and blowout, plug chock and kill line, and change in rheology of drilling mud. On the other hand, nowadays, nanotechnology has created an evolution in engineering sciences and because of the wide range of this science, drilling industry is affected like other industries. In the meantime, because of high yield, high stability and various methods of...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mohammadi Daniali, Mohsen (Author) ; Vossoughi, Gholamreza (Supervisor) ; Boroushaki, Mehrdad (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Nowadays, due to the advancement of robotic technologies and development of industrial robots, the robot manipulators are widely used for automation of various manufacturing processes, such as finishing processes. In these applications, the contact has to be made between robot end-effector and environment. Therefore, control of interaction force in the constrained manipulators is an important demand. On the other hand, due to use of gear box and belts for energy transmission in robot joints, robot manipulators have flexible joints. The vibration, generated due to the interaction force and robot joint flexibility, can deteriorate surface roughness in automated finishing processes. In order to...

Synthesis and Antibacterial Activity of TiO2/ZnO Nanocomposite via Sol-Gel Method

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mohammadi, Hanif (Author) ; Ghorbani, Mohammad (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The synthesis and usage of TiO2/ZnO nanocomposite thin film in antibacterial activity against E-coli were experimented through a systematic research. TiO2/ZnO nanocomposite films can demonstrate different properties like gas sensing, self cleaning and treatment of the broad range of aqueous pollutants when it is exposed to light with wavelengths less than 400 nm. This phenomenon happens because of the photocatalytic reactions in the nanocomposite thin film which cause active species production on the surface of the thin film. The nanocomposite synthesis was based on sol-gel process in atmospheric pressure. In this study titanium dioxide is prepared by sol gel method from titanium...

FTIR analysis represented main characteristic peak of oxygen bond on the surface of GO, whereas for TiO2-Graphene most of oxygen functionalities on the surface were removed partially or completely. Photocatalytic degradation of MB proved this extension of light absorption....

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Honarvar, Marjan (Author) ; Mohammadi, Mohammad Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
A new strategy for enhancing the efficiency of TiO2 dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) doped with Ni ions with different molar percentages (i.e., 0, 0.5, 1, 5 and 10 mol%) was reported. The samples were prepared by sol-gel route and characterized by means of XRD, DRS, UV-visible, FESEM and photovoltaic measurment techniques. It was found that Ni-doped TiO2 nanoparticles had a mixture of anatase, rutile and brookite crystal structures. Moreover, the band gap energy was decreased with increasing Ni molar ratio, The highest cell efficiency of 5.4% was achieved for 1mol% Ni-doped TiO2, being 42% greater than that of pure TiO2 nanoparticles

Preparation of Mg-doped TiO2 Nanoparticles for Dye-sensitized Solar Cell Applications

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Safaee, Mahtab (Author) ; Mohammadi, Mohammad Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSCS) is the third-generation of solar cells based on semiconductors formed between a photo sensitized anode and counter cathode which make a photo electrochemical system. They haven’t been commercially marketed due to their lower efficiency than the previous generations. In order to achieve the higher efficiency, the electron injection and light absorption must be increased. One way to increase electron injection is doping the semiconductor with an external ion to reduce lattice band gap. In this work, we made powder and Nano-structured film of titanium dioxide doped with various molar ratios of Mg by the sol-gel process. The effect of Mg:Ti molar ratio on...
