, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Rashidnejhad, Sajad (Author) ; Meghdari, A. (Ali) (Supervisor) ; Ghaemi Osgouie, Kambiz (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In the present work, trajectory optimization of the Dual-Arm Cam-Lock robot considering kinematic and dynamic redundancy is performed. First, the optimal control problem is solved only considering kinematic redundancy and then is solved considering dynamic redundancy. General form of the dynamic model for the system is developed using Lagrangian relations. Global optimization method is used for redundancy resolution problem. A performance index is defined based on the consumed kinetic energy and is minimized through a desired trajectory using the global optimization method. Formulations of optimal control problem are derived and initial boundary problem is changed to two point boundary value...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Shariati Nejad, Ali (Author) ; Adib Nazari, Saeed (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In contacts, the presence of both variable loading and low-amplitude movements causes a kind of fatigue in these components called FRETTING FATIGUE. fretting fatigue has reduced the life of parts. Due to the high cost of replacing some parts in case of failure, it is necessary to take effective measures to delay this exhaustion. One of the effective solutions that can be applied is the use of coating and surface treatments in the contact areas. In this research, first, the fretting fatigue maps of Ti-6Al-4V alloy have been calculated and drawn according to the recommendations of the ASTM standard by using finite element methods. In the next step, by using experimental experiments, the damage...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Shariati Ghaleno, Mohammad Hadi (Author) ; Malaek, Mohammad Bagher (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Building fast and economic space station requires systematic approach toward their design. This research serves to investigate such idea based on Bionic approach. Based on lengthy observations on plant growth we have been able to propose different types of polyhedrons which could help expedite the construction procedure. Different case studies show that how the objectives could be achieved. There are two differences in growth of the modern structures in space and plants. The first is inexistence of producer near the points of growth and Second difference is inexistence of fixed lines for transporting mass. The first difference is not solvable with today's technologies but for second...

Application of Multiscale methods for Modeling Spatial Heterogeneity in Complex Reservoirs

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Hajizadeh Mobaraki, Alireza (Author) ; Farhadpour, Farhad A (Supervisor) ; Sayf Kordi, Ali Akbar (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Underground reservoirs are highly complicated due to the presence of spatial heterogeneities at length scales that span from micrometer in pore structure of the rocks to kilometer in the reservoir models. While large-scale flow units need to be characterized using seismic and well data, detailed displacements of fluids in pore space need to be modeled using thin section analysis and pore network modeling. It is therefore necessary to adopt a multi-scale approach to reservoir description to make best use of all the available data that vary over several orders of magnitude, from micro-scale in pore structure to field scale in reservoir flow models. In this thesis, an integrated framework for...

Samples were heated to 700˚C at different heating rates (5, 10, 15, and 20˚C/min). TGA was used to investigate the effect of the MWCNTs on...

Jahn-Teller Effect in Diamond Vacancy Under Stress

    , M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology monfared, Mohammad (Author) ; Vesaghi, M. A (Supervisor) ; Babamoradi, M (Co-Advisor)
    Abstract
Electron states of diamond vacancy under stress were studied theoretically. The generalized Hubbard model is used to calculate the electrons energy levels. The results shows that the degeneracy of some levels (T, with triple space degeneracy) reduced to levels with lower degeneracy (E, with double space degeneracy and A, without degeneracy). Besides this spiting of degeneracy the energy of all states changed and therefore the transition energy between these states changed too. Jahn-Teller effect was observed

Algebraic and Combinatorial Bounds for the Hat Guessing Number of Graphs

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Shariati, Mohammad Reza (Author) ; Ebrahimi Boroojeni, Javad (Supervisor)
    Abstract
A number of players are positioned on the vertices of a finite graph, and each is wearing a hat whose color has been randomly and equally likely selected from a finite set of colors. Player A sees Player B if and only if there is a directed edge from the vertex corresponding to A to the vertex corresponding to B. The players must agree on a specific strategy before the game begins and carry it out. Once the game begins, no communication is allowed between the players, and each player must simultaneously guess the color of their own hat. The team wins if at least one guess is correct. For a given directed graph, we define the 'guessing number' of the graph as the maximum number of colors for...

    Abstract
The concept of smart grid (SG) has been introduced to improve the operation of the power systems. In modern structures of power systems, different reasons prompt researchers to suggest integrated analysis of multi-carrier energy systems. Considering synergy effects of the couplings between different energy carriers and utilising intelligent technologies for monitoring and controlling of energy flow may change energy system management in the future. In this paper, we propose a new solution which is entitled ‘smart energy hub’ (SEH) that models a multi-carrier energy system in a SG. SEH solutions allow homeowners to manage their energy consumption to reduce their electricity and gas bill. We...
