    Nickel Recovery From Copper Bleed Solution

    Abstract
    In copper electrorefining process, to control Nickel and other impurities concentration and avoiding copper cathode contamination, a certain volume of electrolyte is withdrawn continuously from the circulation system and replaced by fresh electrolyte. The spent electrolyte includes valuable elements such as Nickel, Copper, Iron and also great value of sulfuric acid which is worthwhile to be recycled. Solvent Displacement Crystallization (SDC) method is suitable for this purpose because it retains significant amount of acid and have low energy consumption.     Abstract
    Wide-waisted Gaussian beam (GB) expansion and point matching methods are discussed in this study as promising techniques for the expansion of electromagnetic waves into GBs. These methods combined with the GB tracing method provide an appropriate scheme for wave propagation analysis in large-scale problems. Details of the wide-waisted GB expansion and point matching methods are provided, and their accuracy and validity regions are discussed. A combination of the aforementioned expansion and tracing methods is utilised to analyse a simple outdoor high-frequency wave propagation problem. The results are compared to the results of the well-known ray tracing method, showing good agreement

    Abstract
    Third order differential equations which describe pseudospherical surfaces are considered. The complete classification of a class of such equations is given. A linear problem with one or more parameters, also known as zero curvature representation, for which the equation is the integrability condition, is explicitly given. The classification provides five large families of differential equations. Third order nonlinear dispersive wave equations, such as the Camassa–Holm equation and Degasperis–Procesi equation are examples contained in the classification.     The 3D vectorial Gaussian beam tracing method is used to model a short 62.4-GHz link in a simple urban environment. First the Gabor expansion method with a wide-waisted window function is utilized to expand the known far field pattern of the transmitter antenna into a set of Gaussian beams and then these beams are propagated in space until they impinge on a building wall or ground, on which a phase matching method is used to find the reflected Gaussian beams.     Variational principle is used to derive the nonlinear response of the floating roof of cylindrical liquid storage tanks due to harmonic base excitations. The formulation accounts for nonlinearity due to large deflections of the floating roof. The derived nonlinear governing equation for the sloshing response of the floating roof has a cubic nonlinear stiffness term similar to the well known Duffing equation.     Conventional attractive magnetic force models (proportional to the coil current squared and inversely proportional to the gap squared) cannot simulate the nonlinear responses of magnetic bearings in the presence of electromagnetic losses, flux leakage or saturation of iron. In this paper, based on results from an experimental set-up designed to study magnetic force, a novel parametric model is presented in the form of a nonlinear polynomial with unknown coefficients.
