    The dRGT theory of massive gravity is a consistent theory of interacting massive spin 2 particles. As an effective field theory compared to observational data, its UV cutoff is rather low. Namely, unitarity is violated at low energies in scattering of longitudinal modes. In this dissertation, we give a brief review of the dRGT theory and its challenges.     A series of experiments were carried out to study the unsteady wake phenomenon behind an oscillating airfoil. The airfoil is a section of a wind turbine blade oscillating in pitch about the quarter chord axis at various reduced frequencies, oscillation amplitude and mean angles of attack. Streamwise velocity profiles were obtained by real time and instantaneous measurements at 35 vertically aligned points behind the airfoil via two similar rakes.     In this study, the effect of film preparation conditions on the gas permeation properties of polyethylene (PE) and ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) films (containing 18 and 28wt% vinyl acetate) was investigated. Film blowing and phase inversion methods were applied in the production of PE and EVA films, respectively. The permeation of pure oxygen and carbon dioxide gases was measured at room temperature. The results indicated that with the increase of PE film thickness, permeability and solubility of O2 and CO2 in these films decreased; but the diffusivities of gases through PE films increased.     An extensive wind tunnel tests were conducted on an axisymmetric supersonic inlet at Mach numbers from 1.8 to 2.2 and at different values of mass flow rates.     The performance characteristics of an axisymmetric inlet at its design and off-design operational conditions are experimentally investigated. The model is tested for wide ranges of free stream Mach numbers, M∞ = 1.5-2.5, and mass flow rates. For each test, the pressure recovery, the mass flow passing through the inlet and the pressure distribution over the spike and the cowl are measured.
