    Imperfect and Perfect Secrecy in Compound Multiple Access Channel with Confidential Message

    Abstract
    In this paper, we study the problem of secret communication over a compound Multiple Access Channel (MAC). In this channel, we assume that one of the transmitted messages is confidential, which is only decoded by its corresponding receiver and kept secret from the other receiver. We call this proposed setting the compound MAC with a confidential message. For this model, we derive general inner and outer bounds for both imperfect and perfect secrecy conditions for the second receiver. Also, as examples, we investigate less noisy and Gaussian versions of this channel, and extend the results of the discrete memoryless version to these cases.     This paper discusses a technical comparison of a directexpansion ground-source heat pump (DX-GSHP) and an airsource heat pump (ASHP). To lower the ground heat exchanger size for cost reduction purposes, the system performance of a hybrid system is also evaluated using a supplementary air evaporator combined with the DX-GSHP. Detailed screening models previously developed for ASHPs and DX-GHSPs are first used to compare the seasonal performance of these two options for a residential building in the cold-climate city of Montreal, Canada.     The authors study the problem of secret communication over a multiple-access channel with a common message.     Abstract
    Pollutant emission is one of the most important problems the world faces. Using sustainable energies is among the best solutions which can be employed to reduce CO2 and other pollutants as in Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards. In this study, a case study region located in the south of Iran, including 100 households, is studied to find practical methods of investment to partially replace the required energy by renewables where the total emission is confined to the EPA standards. The solar irradiant of the region is 5.36 kWh/m2/day which causes high energy consumption (3000 kWh/day).     Micro arc oxidation was employed to grow TiO2/hydroxyapatite composite layer on titanium substrate. The correlation between electrolyte concentration, diameter and density of the pores in fabricated layers was investigated. Therefore, the effect of electrolyte concentration on composition and morphology of grown layers was studied using SEM, EDX, XRD and XPS techniques. Samples were coated in electrolytes containing 5, 10 and 15 g/l calcium acetate and 1, 3 and 5 g/l β-glycerophosphate, at optimized voltage for 3 min.     This work presents a procedure for functionalization of graphene sheets from edges by polyglycerol. Hyperbranched polyglycerol with a bi-dentate aromatic segment in its focal point was synthesized and used to sandwich graphene sheets from the cut-edges. Due to the hydrophobicity of the flat surface of the edge-functionalized graphenes and hydrophilicity of their edges, they changed their conformation from the extended- to the closed-state and formed nanocapsules in aqueous solutions.     An efficient method for synthesis of 2-iminium-1,3-dithiolane as a new family of ionic liquids with reaction of dithiocarbamates with methyl triflouromethanesulfonate was described.     In this paper a highly efficient optical diode is demonstrated in photonic crystal waveguides with broken spatial symmetry. The structure is made of isotropic linear materials and does not need high power optical beams or strong magnetic fields. While the proposed structure shows almost complete light transmission (>99%) in one direction, it blocks light transmission in the opposite direction. This unidirectional transmission is retained within a wide range of frequencies (>4% of central frequency).     Sulfur doped TiO2 layers containing nano/micro-sized pores were synthesized by micro-arc oxidation process. Effect of the applied voltage and the electrolyte composition on physical and chemical properties of the layers was investigated using SEM, AFM, XRD, XPS, and EDS techniques. Surface morphology and topography of the layers were investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and atomic force microscope (AFM).     Abstract
    V2O5-TiO2 porous layers were synthesized via micro-arc oxidation for the first time. The effect of the applied voltage on morphology, composition, and photo-activity of the layers was investigated. The layers, which consisted of anatase, rutile, and vanadium pentoxide phases, revealed an enhanced photo-activity. About 93% of methylene blue solution was degraded on the synthesized layers after 120 min UV-irradiation with a reaction rate constant of k = 0.0228 min-1.
