    Abstract
    Inlets must decelerate the air with lowest loss and drag together with a given pressure and Mach number with best quality and uniformity to the engine. This is done based on flight Mach number, by an arrangement of shock waves and surfaces gradient in the inlet. Any distortion in the flow field and the inlet geometry parameters may disrupt such arrangement and influence on the inlet performance, in addition, under critical conditions, it might affect the stability of the intakes.     Abstract
    In this paper, general relations between two different stress tensors Tf and Tg, respectively conjugate to strain measure tensors f(U) and g(U) are found. The strain class f(U) is based on the right stretch tensor U which includes the Seth-Hill strain tensors. The method is based on the definition of energy conjugacy and Hill's principal axis method. The relations are derived for the cases of distinct as well as coalescent principal stretches. As a special case, conjugate stresses of the Seth-Hill strain measures are then more investigated in their general form. The relations are first obtained in the principal axes of the tensor U. Therefore, this thesis takes into account the calibration of the subsonic wind tunnel at the Sharif University of Technology, with the test section dimensions of 90 × 42 × 30 cm3. It is necessary to accurately and correctly determine the effective parameters for the wind tunnel results to be reliable.     Abstract
    In this paper, conjugate stresses of the Seth-Hill strain measures are treated by means of the definition of energy conjugacy and Hill's principal axis method. This approach results in relations between components of two different conjugate stress tensors. The results are valid for distinct as well as coalescent principal stretches. This theory contains two main claims: 1- normative judgements are beliefs that ascribe normative properties, and 2- no normative property exists. In this dissertation, in particular, Bart Streumer’s arguments against the competitors of this theory are discussed and criticized. Streumer argues against non-reductivism, reductivism, and non-cognitivism in three separate arguments.     In this thesis a smart anticorrosive pH-responsive coat was developed with layer by layer (LbL) technique in the assembly of SiO2/CTAB/PSS/HMTA/PSS/PEI/PSS. SiO2 nanoparticles were prepared from Matland Company (Iran) with average size of 24 nm. At first, the corrosion inhibition of HMTA for API 5L Grade B steel in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution was investigated. Tafel polarization technique showed the optimum concentration of HMTA was 0.08 M with 92% corrosion inhibition efficiency as the morphology of coverage and adsorption on the steel surface was confirmed by SEM and EDS. In this paper, exact formulation for current distribution inside multiwall carbon nanotube (MWCNT) bundles is derived using multiconductor transmission line model. The current distribution is different from copper wires and it is geometry dependent because of kinetic inductance and quantum capacitance.     In this paper, n-tier methodology is developed to design multilevel interconnect architecture of macrocells using single-wall carbon nanotube (SWCNT) bundles. Upper limit of low-bias voltage of SWCNT bundle interconnects is derived and its dependence on temperature, SWCNTs' diameter, and interconnect length is studied. Possibility of using SWCNT bundles as local interconnects at 7.5-nm technology node is discussed, and it is shown that SWCNT bundles with 1 nm diameter cannot be used at the first interconnect metal level.
