    In recent years, the technological advancement of supercapacitors has been increasing exponentially due to the high demand in electronic consumer products.     Organ-on-chip devices have provided the pharmaceutical and tissue engineering worlds much hope since they arrived and began to grow in sophistication. However, limitations for their applicability were soon realized as they lacked real-time monitoring and sensing capabilities. The users of these devices relied solely on endpoint analysis for the results of their tests, which created a chasm in the understanding of life between the lab the natural world.     Abstract
    Activated carbon powder was analyzed at one of the petro-chemical units in Iran, to determine the usefulness of this material in waste water treatment. Two types of commercial activated carbon powder were used giving different results, attributed to different constituents. For every experiment, 4 kg of activated carbon was used in the pilot plant column. Analysis results on the effect of parameters, e.g., inlet volumetric flow rate of waste water and activated carbon structure, on the plant performance were presented.     Abstract
    In the present work, a mathematical model was developed based on finite difference method to predict the microporosity distribution in A356 aluminum alloy casting. Heat, mass, and gas conservation equations were solved in this model. Moreover, Darcy's equation was considered in the mushy zone. Results show that the distribution and concentration of microporosities in cast parts vary with both cooling rate and initial gas content. Simulation results were compared with experimental data where proportionally good agreement with experimental results was found. Finally, a complex cast part was simulated presenting the ability of the model to predict the porosities in industrial cast parts

    Abstract
    This paper introduces a new hybrid electro membrane bioreactor (HEMBR) for reverse osmosis (RO) pretreatment and advanced treatment of effluent by simultaneously integrating electrical coagulation (EC) with a membrane bioreactor (MBR) and its performance was compared with conventional MBR. Experimental results and their statistical analysis showed removal efficiency for suspended solids (SS) of almost 100% for both reactors. HEMBR removal of chemical oxygen demand (COD) improved by 4% and membrane fouling was alleviated according to transmembrane pressure (TMP).     Abstract
    We proposed a modeling procedure to calculate the impact of temperature on the detection efficiency in photodetectors based on CdTe materials. Temperature increase impacts on the electrical properties of the materials such as carrier mobility and carrier recombination lifetime. This impact which can be effective in some cases has been normally ignored in the modeling approaches presented in the literature. Here we show that increasing the temperature from 190 K to 300 K not reduces the mobility of both electrons and holes but also significantly reduces the carrier lifetime.     Hexyltriphenylphosphonium bromide (HTPB) is used as an efficient ionic liquid catalyst in the chemoselective addition of malononitrile to carbonyl group moiety of chalcones through the three-component reaction of aryl aldehydes, acetophenone derivatves, and malononitrile to produce (E)-2-(1,3-diarylallylidene)malononitriles at ambient temperature.     In this study, effectiveness of non-ionic block copolymers such as Lugalvan BNO12 and Triton X series (Triton X100 & Triton X405) has been reported for graphene dispersion in aqueous solutions. Stability of the aqueous graphene dispersions is investigated using UV–visible spectroscopy, Rheological, and Conductivity studies.     We proposed two different time-dependent modeling approaches for variation of device characteristics of perovskite solar cells under stress conditions. The first approach follows Sah-Noyce-Shockley (SNS) model based on Shockley–Read–Hall recombination/generation across the depletion width of pn junction and the second approach is based on thermionic emission model for Schottky diodes.     In terms of manufacturability, there is a high tendency to deposit light-absorbing CuInS2 films by solution processing methods like ink-based depositions. In particular, for nanoparticle inks, the synthesis of highly dispersed and stable inks, with uniformity in the deposition process, is a serious challenge. Here, we demonstrate a novel two-step low-temperature CuInS2 film deposition method in which the In2S3 is deposited first.     A simple, rapid, atom economy and highly efficient procedure has been developed for thiolysis of epoxides by aromatic and aliphatic thiols under solvent-free conditions. A high regioselectivity in favor of nucleophilic attack at the benzylic carbon atom of aromatic epoxides, such as styrene oxide, is observed. However, aliphatic unsymmetrical alkenyl oxides undergo selective nucleophilic attack at the sterically less hindered carbon atom.
