    Abstract
    The authors consider the design of a CFAR processor for the adaptive thresholding system of an ESM receiver. For this purpose, the important specifications of ESM systems are the reception of pulses with various widths and rates, and vulnerability to noise jammers. The major difficulty in determining the statistics of the background noise is the problem of interfering signals. In situations of tolerable variations in background noise power, an MEx-CFAR processor is proposed, which exhibits good robustness against interfering pulses.     Hybrid perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have gained significant attention owing to their excellent physicochemical and photovoltaic properties. PSCs typically consist of a perovskite light absorber sandwiched between two carrier selective layers optimized with respect to optimal band alignment and low interfacial recombination. The quality of the perovskite layer and interfaces play major roles in the fabrication of high-performance PSCs.     In this study, an attempt has been made using different concentrations of rare-earth (RE) elements Yb, Gd in Ni–Zn spinel ferrite to examine the magneto-optical and electrical conductivity analysis of the prepared samples. RE doped Ni–Zn ferrite with composition Ni0.5Zn0.5YbxGdxFe2-xO4 (where, x = 0.00, 0.20, 0.40, 0. 60, 0.80 and 1.00) were prepared by one step sol-gel self-ignition approach.     The aims of this study were to culturally adapt and validate the Persian version of Foot and Ankle Outcome Score (FAOS) and present data on its psychometric properties for patients with different foot and ankle problems. The Persian version of FAOS was developed after a standard forward-backward translation and cultural adaptation process. The sample included 93 patients with foot and ankle disorders who were asked to complete two questionnaires: FAOS and Short-Form 36 Health Survey (SF-36).     We consider a two-user state-dependent generalized multiple access channel (GMAC) with correlated channel state information (CSI). It is assumed that the CSI is partially known at each encoder noncausally. We first present an achievable rate region using multi-layer Gelfand-Pinsker coding with partial state and message cooperation between the encoders. We then specialize our result to a Gaussian GMAC with additive interferences that are known partially at each encoder.     In the adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) treatment, a brace is prescribed to the patients who have 20 to 45° curves on their spines to prevent the disorder's advancement. For the analysis of Milwaukee brace effects during time, finite element models (FEMs) of the spine (the thoracolumbar region) and the ribcage (contained 10 pairs of the ribs and the sternum) were prepared for two patients.     Using reverse nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulations the influence of intermolecular bridges on the thermal conductivity (λ) in carbon nanotube (CNT) bundles has been investigated. The chosen cross linkers (CH 2, O, CO) strengthen the transversal energy transport relative to the one in CNT bundles without bridges. The results showed that λ does not increase linearly with the linker density. The efficiency of the heat transport is determined by the number of linkers in the direction of the heat flux, the type of the linker, and their spatial ordering.     Two kinds of carbon coated and uncoated 316L stainless steel are studied to use as bipolar plates in fuel cells. The results show that the conductive amorphous carbon film has a low corrosion rate in simulated PEMFC environment.     A new wearable assistive device (WAD) was developed to decrease required force on the lumbar spine in static holding tasks. In order to obtain moments on lumbar spine in two conditions, with and without WAD, a biomechanical static model was used for estimation of external moments on lumbar spine. The results of biomechanical models indicated that there was a reduction in the lumbar moment ranging from 20% to 43% using WAD depending on the load and flexion angle.
