    , Article 36th AIAA Thermophysics Conference 2003, Orlando, FL, 23 June 2003 through 26 June 2003 ; 2003 ; 9781624100970 (ISBN) Darbandi, M ; Schneider, G. E ; Naderi, A ; Sharif University of Technology
    2003
    Abstract
In order to be a powerful tool, finite-element and finite-volume methods must be capable of handling complex flow in complex geometries. In this work, a structured finite volume element method is suitably developed for solving incompressible flow on a collocated grid topology. The method is generally-applicable to arbitrarily shaped elements and orientations and, thus, challenges the potential to unify many of the different grid topologies into a single formulation. The correct estimation of the convec-tive and diffusive flux terms at cell faces remarkably enhances the solution accuracy of the extended formulation. It is shown that the current formulation is enough robust to treat any...

Design of Digital Block of Receiver Section of Smart Antenna System

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Naderi Shahi, Sina (Author) ; Haj Sadeghi, Khosro (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In recent years with the increase of cellular phone subscribers, demand for high capacity networks is inevitable. For this reason, different methods have been proposed to increase the channel capacity. One method which has become popular in recent years is utilizing of Smart Antenna Systems. Smart antennas basically attempt to enhance the desired signal power and suppress the interferers by beamforming toward the DOA (direction-of-arrival) of the desired signal and nullsteering in the interferences’ DOAs. Smart Antennas first find the direction of signal sources, and then put the main gain toward the desired signal and put the nulls toward unwanted signals. As a result, we can obtain the...

Monte Carlo Simulation of Asymmetric Elastic Rod Model and Calculation of
    Probability of Loop Formation

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Naderi, Mohammad Saber (Author) ; Ejtehadi, Mohammad Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Sharply bent DNA plays an important role in many biological processes such as gene regulation, DNA replication and recombination. DNA cyclization experiments are well suited to study of sharply bent DNA, because they are sensitive to strongly bent conformations. Results of these experiments show that short length DNA molecules are more flexible than predicted by elastic rod model. Therefore, based on these experiments, the elastic rod model is not a suitable model for explaining elastic behavior of DNA at small lengths, although it can explain DNA elasticity at large length scales. Recently, it has been shown that a new model called asymmetric elastic rod model can explain high flexibility...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Naderi, Mohammad Yousof (Author) ; Rabiee, Hamid Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Wireless sensor network (WSN) multimedia applications impose new challenges in the design of algorithms and communication protocols for sensor networks. Indeed, wireless multimedia sensor networks (WMSNs) must provide relatively high throughput and low end-to-end delay and jitter while being energy-efficient. In view of these challenges, error control is an important mechanism which enables us to provide robust and high quality multimedia communication in WSNs. In this thesis, we first perform a comprehensive performance evaluation of different error control schemes for multimedia communication over WSNs. The results of our analysis show how wireless channel errors can affect the performance...

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology Naderi Soorki, Mojtaba (Author) ; Tavazoei, Mohammad Saleh (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this thesis, stability and stabilization of fractional-order linear time invariant swarm systems are studied. In recent years it has been proved that the exact model of dynamic agents in most of the swarm systems can be modeled more accurate by fractional order differential equations. Stating the motivation of choosing this subject, the achievements of the thesis can be divided into two general parts: Investigating the stability of fractional-order swarm systems and how to stabilize such systems. After introducing the fractional-order systems and fractional-order model of swarm systems in the introduction part, the literature review is presented in Chapter 2. In Chapter 3 the results...

    Abstract
The stability issue of mobile manipulators, particularly when the end-effector and the vehicle have to follow a predefined trajectory (for some special duties like painting a plane or carrying a light load), is a crucial subject and needs special attention. In this paper, by utilizing the manipulator compensation motions, the instantaneous proper configuration for a redundant mobile robot is determined. A fast methodology taking into account the dynamic interaction between the manipulator and the vehicle is proposed for enhancing the tipover stability (i.e. stability against overturning) of the mobile manipulator by employing the soft computing approach including a genetic algorithm, neural...

In the first step, RGA analysis has been used for pairing input and output variables. Then the performance of PI controller on the system has been investigated. For designing model predictive controller (MPC) the nonlinear model has been linearized at operational point and the controller has been designed in MPC toolbox of MATLAB software R2013a. In the...

Numerical Methods for Approximation and Visualization of Invariant Manifolds in Dynamical Systems

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Naderi Yeganeh, Hamid (Author) ; Razvan, Mohammad Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Invariant manifolds are important objects in the theory of dynamical systems. The stable manifold theorem is a very important theorem about this concept which proves the existence of stable and unstable manifolds in a wide range of dynamical systems. The importance of invariant manifolds encourages us to view their pictures. It helps us to understand their bahavior. For this purpose, at first we need to approximate the invariant manifold we want to visualize. There are several algorithms designed to approximate invariant manifolds. Those algorithms approximate a set of points on an invariant manifold and then provide an approximation of the manifold by the calculated points. Visualizing an...

    Abstract
The development of asymmetric supercapacitors requires the design of electrode construction and the utilization of new electroactive materials. In this regard, an effective strategy is the loading of active materials on an integrated 3D porous graphene-based substrate such as graphene foam (GF). Herein, we successfully designed and fabricated a novel ternary binder-free nanocomposite consisting of polypyrrole, Fe-Co sulfide, and reduced graphene oxide on a nickel foam electrode (PPy/FeCoS-rGO/NF) via a facile, cost-effective, and powerful electrodeposition method for application in high-performance asymmetric supercapacitors. The monolithic 3D porous graphene foam (GF) obtained by the facile...

A simple route to synthesize zirconia antistatic thin films on glass substrates and their application to polymer-based composites

    , Article Materials Chemistry and Physics ; Volume 244 , 1 April , 2020 Naderi, A ; Dolati, A ; Afshar, A ; Palardy, G ; Sharif University of Technology
    Elsevier Ltd  2020
    Abstract
In this study, zirconia antistatic coatings were synthesized by a simple dip coating sol-gel route on glass substrates, then applied to polymer-based composites to potentially improve their dust or water repellent capabilities. The coating solution contained a precursor (ZrCl4), solvent (isopropanol) and coupling agent. FTIR spectra confirmed ZrO2 and ZrO compounds in both solution and antistatic coating. FE-SEM images indicated ZrO2 fibers’ thickness was controlled by changing ZrCl4 concentration (150 g–15 g ZrCl4/l) or relative humidity (20%–60%) during coating drying. Fibers grew thicker when decreasing the former or increasing the latter. The surface electrical resistivity for all...

Mechanical Simulation of Corneal Ring Implant Surgery for Keratoconus Treatment Considering Tissue Collagen Structure

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Naderi Eshkaftaki, Mohammad Reza (Author) ; Asghari, Mohsen (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Keratoconus is one of the most common optical (visual, eye) diseases that usually occurs in youth or early third decade of life. In this disease, cornea gets thin and loses it initial shape and becomes conical. Doctors use different methods for its treatment including use of glasses, contact lenses (hard or soft), cornea transplantation and also cross linking of cornea. Each of these methods have their limitations, on the other hand, considering that this disease progresses and intensifies, ophthalmologists use corneal ring implant surgery for the treatment of this disease in its advanced levels. A good ring implant in corneal causes increased strength and also cause corneal to get back to...

    Abstract
Nowadays the size and dimension of mobile manipulators have been decreased for being usable in various regions. This leads several problems such as danger of instability. Therefore, many researches have been done to overcome the problem of overturning of a mobile manipulator. In this paper, an algorithm for increasing the stability of a mobile manipulator is presented based on the optimization of a performance index. The path of vehicle and the desired task of the end-effector are predefined. In order to apply the optimal stability criterion, it is more convenient that the manipulator be of a redundant. Considering the interaction between the vehicle and the manipulator and using the genetic...

    Abstract
Fast finite time adaptive sliding mode control of a quadrotor in the presence of uncertainties and unbounded external disturbances is dealt in this paper. To this end, a fractional order sliding surface is first defined and then, an adaptive sliding mode controller is designed to guarantee finite time stability with fast convergence of quadrotor states to the desired trajectory. In this controller, it is assumed that the upper bound of the model uncertainties and external disturbances is a nonlinear function with unknown coefficients. These coefficients are estimated via stable adaptive laws. Finite time stability of the closed-loop system is analyzed using Lyapunov theorem. Simulation...
