    Chaos analysis in attitude dynamics of a flexible satellite

    Abstract
    In this paper, we analytically and numerically investigate chaos in attitude dynamics of a flexible satellite composed of a rigid body and two identical rigid panels attached to the main body with springs. Flexibility, viewed as a perturbation, can cause chaos in the satellite. To show this, first, we use a novel approach to define this perturbation. Then, we employ canonical transformation to transform the Hamiltonian of the system from five to three degrees of freedom. Next, we approximate the system by a second-order differential equation with a time quasiperiodic perturbation.     Taxonomy learning is a prerequisite step for ontology learning. In order to create a taxonomy, first of all, existing 'is-a' relations between words should be extracted.     Abstract
    In this paper we investigate the effects of superconducting shielded core reactor (SSCR) on the operation of induction generators. Large number of induction generators used in wind power plants generally increase the short circuit current level of the system. The reason is that they provide parallel reduced-impedance paths for the fault currents. Taking advantage of SSCR in wind power plants allows for using these generating units in large numbers with no concerns about the system fault current increments.     Abstract
    Adaptive Noise Cancellers (ANCs) do not provide sufficient noise reduction in the diffuse noise fields. In this paper, a new hybrid structure is proposed as a solution to this problem. The proposed system is a combination of two subsystems, an ANC and a new multistage post-filter. The post-filter is based on linear prediction (LP) and attempts to extract speech component by using intermediate ANC signals. The system is implemented on an over-sampled DFT filterbank with different analysis and synthesis prototype filters. Szigeti and L. van Wyk, by investigating the constant-trace representations of a Clifford algebra C(V) of an arbitrary quadratic form q: V→ F (possibly degenerate) and we present some relevant applications. In particular, the existence of the polynomial identities of C(V) of particular form when the characteristic of the base field is zero is looked at.     In this paper, a new cache placement scheme is proposed to achieve higher hit ratios with respect to the two conventional schemes namely set-associative and direct mapping. Similar to set-associative, in this scheme, cache space is divided into sets of different sizes. Hence, the length of tag fields associated to each set is also variable and depends on the partition it is in.     This paper reports on a new method of automatic design. It is a simulation of "human intentional activity," appearing in management, business, various designs and physical work. It is achieved by repetitive hierarchical decomposition of human concepts using (mainly) natural language expressions. Three typical ways (skill, rule and knowledge based) to create the hierarchical decomposition have been implemented and evaluated quantitatively as a CASE tool.
