    A new-designed surfactant was prepared with capability of tolerating high saline formation water and real oil reservoir conditions. The specific emulsion behavior of this new chemical was investigated by doing all sets of emulsion stability and emulsion behavior tests in presence of different alkalis.     Observability of bulk power transmission network by means of minimum number of phasor measurement units (PMUs), with the aid of the network topology, is a great challenge. This paper presents a novel equivalent integer linear programming method (EILPM) for the exhaustive search-based PMU placement. The state estimation implemented based on such a placement is completely linear, thereby eliminating drawbacks of the conventional SCADA-based state estimation.     Surface integrity is one of the important parameters affecting the quality and functionality of mechanical components. This paper presents an investigation on effect of drilling parameter on the surface integrity of Inconel 718 through a combination of experimental and simulation works. The machining responses that are determined through the experimental work include microhardness, microstructure changes, and surface roughness.     Accurate estimation of scour depth is needed for economic and safe determination of bridge pier foundation depth. Most design criteria are based on maximum scour depth due to the steady design discharge without flow time limit. In this paper, the results are presented of an experimental investigation on local scouring around a single bridge pier under steady and unsteady flow regimes. For unsteady flow, triangular shape hydrographs with repeatable peaks have been chosen. Results show that both sharp and flat increases to the peak of hydrographs have a negligible effect on scour depth for the same base time.     We report a simple and inexpensive synthesis route of TiO2 nanoparticles using electrical arc discharge between titanium electrodes in oxygen bubbled deionized (DI) water followed by heat treatment. The resulting nanoparticles were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), dynamic light scattering (DLS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).     Single cell gel electrophoresis was used to observe the effect of bifenthrin and chlorpyrifos on Labeo rohita. The present work was planned to study the genotoxic effect of pesticide mixture on the major indian carp, L. rohita at sub-lethal concentration 33% LC50. First of all, 96-hr LC50 was determined for L. rohita, then fish was given sub-lethal environment for 70 days. Erythrocytes from blood were taken after each fortnight for the assessment of time dependent DNA damage (% damage), aggregate tail length of comets and genomic destruction.     A new bi-supported Ziegler–Natta catalyst was prepared successfully by supporting TiCl4 on the carbon black (CB) and magnesium dichloride. Then, this catalyst was used to prepare ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) nanocomposites via in situ polymerization. The effects of difference molar ratios of triisobutylaluminum as activator to TiCl4, polymerization temperature, pressure of monomer and polymerization time on productivity of the catalyst were studied.
