    Curvilinear fiber optimization tools for aeroelastic design of composite wings

    Abstract
    The aeroelastic design of composite wings modeled as thin-walled beams is investigated through the use of curvilinear fiber. The structural model considers non-classical effects such as transverse shear, warping restraint, rotary inertia, nonuniform torsional model and also aerodynamic loads based on Wagner's function. In this paper, a linear spanwise variation of the fiber orientation resulting in a variable-stiffness structure is used to optimize the wing for maximum aeroelastic instability speed purpose, while manufacturing constraints are incorporated. Numerical results indicate improvements of aeroelastic stability of variable-stiffness wings over conventional, constant-stiffness ones

    Abstract
    In this study the ability of Acidithiobacillus ferrooxi-dans, with regard to the biorecovery of heavy metals in shake flask has been investigated. Adaptation experiments with the single metal ions Ni, Co, V, Mo, W and a mixture of the first four metal ions in the medium was developed through serial sub-culturing. Adaptation showed that A. ferrooxidans could tolerate up to 2.3 g/l Ni, 1.4 g/l Co, 1.4 g/l V, 0.045 g/l Mo and 0.005 g/l W, singly. In the presence of multi-metals considering a mixture of Ni-Co-V-Mo, the bacteria was able to tolerate up to 1.5 g/l Ni, 0.8 g/l Co, 0.8 g/l V and 0.05 g/l Mo in steps of 50-100 mg/l for Ni, Co and V, while for Mo and W with increments in concentration...

    A novel method based on microextraction in packed syringe (MEPS), as a sample preparation technique in combination with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was developed using a polypyrrole (PPy) nanowires network as the extracting medium. The PPy nanowires network was prepared using a soft template technique and its characterization was studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The use of micelles in this methodology has an important role in the shape of the growing polymer.     Abstract
    In order to evaluate dynamic properties of Babolsar and Toyoura sands at saturation levels of 25, 50, 75 & 100%, a series of cyclic simple shear tests were carried out. The SGI type cyclic simple shear device was used to study the shear modulus, G, and damping ratio, D, of the above mentioned sands at cyclic shear strain of 0.5, 5 & 10%. The effect of degree of saturation (S), vertical consolidation stress (σ vc) and number of loading cycles (N) were investigated. On the basis of the tests results, the shear modulus approximately remains constant by change of degree of saturation from 25 to 50% and decreases when reaches the degree of saturation 75%.     Abstract
    In this paper we describe a method for finding polynomial invariants under stochastic local operations and classical communication (SLOCC) for a system of delocalized fermions shared between different parties, with global particle-number conservation as the only constraint. These invariants can be used to construct entanglement measures for different types of entanglement in such a system. It is shown that the invariants, and the measures constructed from them, take a nonzero value only if the state of the system allows for the observation of Bell-nonlocal correlations.     In this paper, we report on 2D numerical simulation of spectral response for InGaN dual-band photodetector operating at near ultraviolet and visible wavelengths. The back-to-back p–i–n/n–i–p integrated structure enables independent and simultaneous detection of two bands under back-side illumination. The effect of indium content and absorption layer thickness of the two sub-detectors on external quantum efficiency and optical crosstalk between two sub-detectors have been investigated. In this paper, we prove that the statement 'every compact set K in a locally compact space X is integrable with respect to a positive measure μ' is equivalent to LPO, over Bishop's constructive analysis.     Crosstalk faults occurring in wires of Networks on Chip (NoCs) can seriously threaten the reliability of data transfer. One efficient way to tackle crosstalk faults is numeral-based Crosstalk Avoidance Codes (CACs). Numeral-based CACs reduce crosstalk faults by preventing specific transition patterns to occur. One-Lambda Codes (OLCs) are the most efficient types of CACs. However, the codec of OLCs imposes overheads including power consumption, critical path and area occupation to the routers of NoCs.     In this work, we consider each normal alkane as a hypothetical mixture of methyl and methylene groups, in which the interaction potential of each pair is assumed to be the average effective pair potential. Then, the LIR equation of state (EOS) is extended for such a hypothetical mixture. Also, three basic compounds, namely, propane, n-butane and cyclohexane, are used to obtain the contribution of each carbonic group in the EOS parameters. Using the calculated EOS parameters along with the modified EOS, the density of n-alkanes and their mixtures at different pressures and temperatures are calculated.
