    Abstract
    This paper presents a digital hardware implementation of a frequency adaptive Hopf oscillator along with investigation on systematic behavior when they are coupled in a population. The mathematical models of the oscillator are introduced and compared in sense of dynamical behavior by using system-level simulations based on which a piecewise-linear model is developed. It is shown that the model is capable to be implemented digitally with high efficiency. Behavior of the oscillators in different network structures to be used for dynamic Fourier analysis is studied and a structure with more precise operation which is also more efficient for FPGA-based implementation is implemented.     3D hydrogel environment with both unique properties of nanofibrous structure and electrical character can provide a promising scaffold for skeletal muscle tissue engineering approaches. Herein, the poly acrylic acid (PAA)-based hydrogel was engineered to conductive one by aniline polymerization in the form of nanofibers.     Abstract
    In-situ deposition of cupric oxide (CuO) thin films on fluorine-doped tin oxide is performed through a rapid microwave-assisted method. The duration of microwave (MW) irradiation is optimized in order to prepare efficient and stable photocathodes for photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting. We obtain CuO with a unique morphology consisted of intermingled nanosheets. We evaluate PEC performance of the photocathodes through Linear Sweep Voltammetry (LSV) and current stability analyses. The highest achieved photocurrent density is -1.15 mA.cm-2 at 0 V vs. RHE for the sample MW-irradiated for 60 min.     Abstract
    In this study, we have investigated the potential of a native bacterial strain isolated from an Iranian oil field for the production of biosurfactant. The bacterium was identified to be Bacillus mycoides by biochemical tests and 16S ribotyping. The biosurfactant, which was produced by this bacterium, was able to reduce the surface tension of media to 34 mN/m. Biosurfactant production was optimized by the combination of central composite design (CCD) and response surface methodology (RSM).     Among polymers, polyaniline (PANi) has been introduced as a good candidate for muscle regeneration due to high conductivity and also biocompatibility. Herein, for the first time, we report the use of electrospun nanofibrous membrane of PAN-PANi as efficient scaffold for muscle regeneration. The prepared PAN-PANi electrospun nanofibrous membrane was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Attenuated total reflectance fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR) and tensile examination.     Laminar forced convection flow through a channel partially filled with a porous material was numerically studied in this thesis. The Navier-Stokes and Brinkman-Forchheimer equations were used to model the fluid flow in the free and porous regions, respectively. Coupling of the pressure and velocity fields was resolved using the SIMPLEC algorithm. The local thermal equilibrium was adopted in the energy equation.     Abstract
    In this study, the Geocoat™ technology was used for the extraction of zinc from a mineral concentrate obtained from the Kooshk mine (Yazd, Iran) by a culture dominated by the mesophilic bacterium Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans in a packed column bioreactor. A low grade sphalerite ore was used as support for the concentrate coating. During the 100 days of leaching pH, Fe3+, Fetotal, microbial population density and zinc extraction were measured. The final zinc extraction from concentrate and low grade support was 97% and 78%, respectively, and it was found that leaching from the support does not proceed significantly before leaching from the coating is completed
