    Rapid preparation of a homogeneous mixture is essential for many chemical and biological applications, such as micro-scale biological-chemical agent detection, drug delivery, and DNA hybridization. Some mixing systems have a micro-scale geometry, which results in a very slow mixing process, mainly due to laminar flow in these systems. Mixing in a slow flow is performed only by molecular diffusion. In the absence of any disturbances, increased mixing is not possible simply by diffusion. Accordingly, a suitable and innovative method to improve mixing for such systems is required.     Partial discharge (PD) is a common phenomenon which occurs in insulation of high voltage equipments, such as; transformers and has a damaging effect on the insulation. If data mining techniques be used to find specifications and features of different types of partial discharges in power transformers, one can monitor the insulation condition of such equipment online and continuously. Those results can be employed to develop preventive measures more exactly and consequently the maintenance would require less time and cost for electric utility and improve the life time expectancy of the transformers.     Despite the great use of concrete, tensile strength and low flexibility and brittleness are its weaknesses. Many solutions have been provided to eliminate the mentioned defects. In order to increase the flexibility of concrete in previous studies, crushed rubber tire particles have been added to concrete. Recycling car tires helps the environment and makes concrete much more flexible than regular concrete.     Optimal Satellite Aided Capture of Spacecraft Around Jupiter

    In this thesis, satellite aided capture of spacecraft around Jupiter is optimized with the final goal of capture into a circular orbit around Europa. The cost functions of the multi-objective optimization process that should be minimized are: 1) summation of the propulsive ΔVs, 2) the total duration of the capture scenario, and 3) the integral flux of the energetic electrons and protons during the maneuvers.     Abstract
    Free gait becomes necessary in walking robots when they come to walk over discontinuous terrain or face some difficulties in walking. A basic gait generation strategy is presented here using reinforcement learning and fuzzy reward approach. A six-legged (hexapod) robot is implemented using Q-learning algorithm. The learning ability of walking in a hexapod robot is explored considering only the ability of moving its legs and using a fuzzy rewarding system telling whether and how it is moving forward. Results show that the hexapod robot learns to walk using the presented approach properly

    Spreading networks and increasing their complexity has complicated the task of security analysis. Accordingly, automatic verification approaches have received more attention recently. In this paper, we modeled a network including a set of hosts (clients and servers) using the process algebra CSP in order to verify the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) behavior against an active intruder.
