, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Kazemi Tameh, Ehsan (Author) ; Khodaygan, Saeed (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Nowadays, with the remarkable development of the robotics industry, there is an increasing demand for mobile robots. Mobile robots can be deployed individually or in groups for various tasks such as autonomous warehouses, search and rescue operations, firefighting operations, and maintenance and repairs. It is evident that performing certain tasks, such as moving large and long objects or firefighting operations, is more efficient when robots are deployed cooperatively, and in some cases, these tasks cannot be accomplished by a single robot alone. Therefore, in recent years, the issue of path planning for cooperative robots has received significant attention. By cooperation, we mean that...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Kazemzadeh, Amir (Author) ; Shad, Saeed (Supervisor) ; Zahedi Far, Amir (Co-Supervisor)
    Abstract
Currently, one of the most important problems in the field of drilling is the issue of drilling fluid loss in different formations. The problem of mud loss has been evident since the beginning of oil and gas well drilling operations, so that oil companies spend millions of dollars annually to solve the problem of mud loss. Problems such as pipe jamming, loss of rig production time, well blowout, loss of a large volume of drilling mud and damage to reservoir formations due to loss of drilling fluid are caused. Regarding the drilling variables, many factors cause the decrease or increase of the loss, the most important of which are the weight on the drill bit, drilling speed, the rate of...

The aim of this study is to examine and compare the statistics and characteristics of Parkinson's patients in dopaminergic and non-dopaminergic states, focusing on reaching and tracking activities. It also aims to analyze the differences before and after rehabilitation in...

A Method for Incremental Learning of Stream Data

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology Kashani, Elham Sadat (Author) ; Bagheri Shouraki, Saeed (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Today, the pace of information generation, fast processing and instant decision-making is increasing. In this regard, one of the main needs in the field of data management and processing is stream data processing. Today's world needs new methods to deal with and analyze these data. Two of the most challenging aspects of data streams are (i) concept drift, i.e. evolution of data stream over time, which requires the ability to make timely decisions against the high speed of receiving new data; (ii) limited memory storage and the impracticality of using memory due to the large amount of data. Clustering is one of the common methods for processing data streams, without having basic knowledge...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Chenani, Ahmad (Author) ; Jamshidi, Saeed (Supervisor)
    Abstract
One of the major issues raised in the numerical models is the effects of various input parameters on the model output. Identifying the most important parameters in the output is very important in petroleum engineering, especially in tuning equation of states and history matching. Screening the most important parameters from unimportant parameters is assessable by sensitivity analysis. In this study local and global sensitivity analysis methods are used to identify the most important parameters in tuning EOS for seven different fluid samples. Global sensitivity analysis methods are more successful in correct ranking of tuning parameters. Morris method as a global method can screen the...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Pirouzpanah, Sahand (Author) ; Saeedi, Mohammad Hassan (Supervisor) ; Saeedi, Mohammad Saeed (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The potential of phase change process in liquids at microscale has been a favorite for the scientists to fabricate this type of micropumps. To hold unidirectional flow in microchannels usually nozzle-diffuser arrangement is used. Due to the existence of difference in pressure drop in the nozzle and diffuser sections, one can see unidirectional flow through diffuser direction. The objective of this article is to analyze analytically the thermo-hydrodynamic behavior of the Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) bubble of a phase change micropump. Considering the simultaneous effects of hydrodynamic and thermal characteristics of the bubble in the bubble generation chamber, and temperature-saturation...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Pornouri, Pouria (Author) ; Jamshidi, Saeed (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Alavand Oil field is located 50 Km away from west of Siri Island and includes DPG and DPH platforms. The production from Alavand field started in 1998 and till now 11 wells have been totally drilled .Since a production peak in 2001, the oil production in Alvand field has decreased. Water cut is increasing and reservoir pressure is decreasing gradually. Considering poor reservoir characteristic of this reservoir, productivity indexes of wells are relatively low. In addition; natural depletion of reservoir caused the wells to be unable to flow naturally and either closed or produce periodically consequently. To increase production and extend the lifetime of Alvand field, it is decided to start...

Also, by studying and examining the data and the results obtained from the simulation of the horizontal well skin factor in a data...

Develop the Multigrid Method to Solve the Hydrodynamics Problems

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology PourMostafa, Mahdi (Author) ; Noori, Ali (Supervisor) ; Seif, Mohammad Saeed (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In recent years, many advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) methods have been developed for accurate and efficient simulation of fluid flow. The application of these methods shows that for sufficient accuracy, the mesh resolution has to be reasonably high. Unfortunately, conventioanal single-grid Navier-Stokes solvers suffer from poor convergence characteristics. For this problem we used Multigrid method to speed up the convergence rate. In this section a code was developed (based on the conventional CFD algorithm) which can solve Navier-Stokes equations on structured grids. It also simulates the free surface by VOF method. Agglomeration multigrid method is used in present study for...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Pourzeinolabedin, Arman (Author) ; Shad, Saeed (Supervisor) ; Zivar, Davood (Co-Supervisor)
    Abstract
There is many operational problems in the drilling industry. One of these basic problems is stuck pipe. This problem occurs with different intensities in different formations due to particles falling into the well, pressure difference in the formation and drilling mud and instability of the wellbore and creates conditions in which the drilling string can neither rotate nor move, so all Drilling operations are stopped so that according to studies, pipe sticking is one of the most important reasons for stopping drilling operations. This stop imposes millions of dollars of operational damage on oil services companies annually. Therefore, identifying and prediction of stuck pipe as a major...

Finite Element Simulation of Shape Memory Based Structures Using Beam Elements

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Poorasadion, Saeed (Author) ; Sohrabpour, Saeed (Supervisor) ; Arghavani Hadi, Jamal (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Having unique characteristic behaviors of Shape memory alloys (SMAs) known as shape memory effect (SME), and superelasticity (SE), make them an appropriate choice for innovative engineering applications. Optimum design of SMA applications, calls for constitutive models and finite element simulations. It is evident that using structural elements (bar, beam, plate, shell) considerably reduces computational cost (CPU time) when compared to continuum elements. Therefore, structural elements are usually preferred in the early stages of design process. In this thesis, we simulate shape memory based structures using beam elements.Up to now, we have studied phenomenological constitutive models that...
