    Abstract
Nowadays in Iran service providers, are using copper lines in access networks. They rent these lines from a governmental telecommunication company during a complicated and time consuming process. In this thesis, the most common access technologies have been analyzed in order to find an alternative solution for copper lines. Based on the studies in this thesis, it is clear that Wimax technology can be an appropriate solution comparing with Wi-Fi and 3G from the point of quality and speed. The UNIDO methodology has been used in this economical assessment (feasibility study). In this methodology, all the running and fixed costs and revenue as well, have been estimated. In the next step,...

    Abstract
Regarding complexity and wide range use of distribution network structures, loss reduction is possible in case of complete knowledge and suitable approaches. Loss reduction not only can grow GDP but also can improve economic growth. It should have schedule and plan wisely. Thus, in this research, first a region called Yusef Abad in Tehran was selected then the network was assessed completely. During the assessment, the research team determines causes of energy loss and load loss and then measured amount of each one. Then, the loss share of each element of the network determined. Elements of the network consist of transformers, conductors and meters. Then possible solutions for loss reduction...

Symbiosis opportunities between food and energy system: The potential of manure-based biogas as heating source for greenhouse production

    , Article Journal of Industrial Ecology ; Volume 25, Issue 3 , 2021 , Pages 648-662 ; 10881980 (ISSN) Burg, V ; Golzar, F ; Bowman, G ; Hellweg, S ; Roshandel, R ; Sharif University of Technology
John Wiley and Sons Inc  2021
    Abstract
The concept of symbiosis, a mutually beneficial relationship, can be applied to food and energy systems. Greenhouse systems and biogas plants are interesting technologies for food–energy symbiosis, because both are usually based in rural areas and offer opportunities for the exchange of materials (e.g., biomass waste from the greenhouse as input to biogas plants) and energy (heat from biogas co-generation for heating greenhouses). In this paper, the focus lies on manure resources for biogas in Switzerland, because manure amounts are high and currently largely underused. We provide a spatial analysis of the availability of manure as feedstock to biogas plants and heat source for greenhouses....

Feasibility Study of a Production Plant for Prefabricated Components of Building Structures

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Rafat, Mohammad Reza (Author) ; Mostafavi, Mostafa (Supervisor)
    Abstract
According to authorities and statistical figures, Iran is seriously facing insufficient housing crisis. Studies show that through an increase of 1.5 million units in annual housing construction capacity, this crisis will be overcome in 5 years. Although successful execution of such a big project is not unprecedented in the world, housing experts believe fulfillment of this plan through traditional method of construction in the country is impossible. The country's capacity of industrialized construction which is known as the remedy, is only limited to 2-3% of total construction. Thus development of this approach through financial, legal, ... supports of investment in prefabrication...

This investigation focuses on analysis of distribution part of dairy products and tends to evaluate prices and presents solutions to reform prices of distribution. This research...

Hybrid Powertrain Design For Urban Utility Vehicles

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Taghavipour, Amir (Author) ; Saadat Foumani, Mahmoud (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The present research aims at designing a hybrid powertrain for the urban utility vehicles whose internal combustion engines consume more fuel due to idling during most of the time of their mission in the cities. This design has considered development of a hybrid powertrain with the least changes in the vehicle together with a simultaneous lower cost. At first some experiments were conducted to examine the feasibility of using the hybrid powertrain for the urban utility vehicles. One of the results of this test was the speed of these vehicles in different times of working and we can achieved a standard drive cycle though separate methods by analyzing this result. The drive cycle is one of the...

Super Heavy Crude Oil Refinery Project Feasibility Study

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mansouri, Gholam Reza (Author) ; Safaeih, Mohammad Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The market demand of super heavy crude oil is very low due to its determinative both physical and chemical properties. Unfortunately existing refineries in Iran are not capable to refine this kind of crude oil. Marketing issues besides great price difference with other crude oil types leads us to find economical solution for optimal use of this national possession. About 70 percent of super heavy crude oil produced from Soroush and Norouz oil fields is un-refineable materials and to refine this heavy crude oil to refinery products like gasoline or gas oil a refinery with RFCC ( Residual Fluid Catalitic Cracking) technology must be made. Super high Technology and very heavy capital cost...

Joint Modelling of Telecommuting’s Feasibility and Freguency for Employees, Application of Copula Models

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Kamal, Kimia (Author) ; Kermanshah, Mohammad (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Since expansion of communication technology, telecommuting has gained attention from transportation planners as an approach in field of demand management. In this research, joint effects of feasibility of telecommuting for the employees of each organization and the relevant frequency of employees have been evaluated by using the copula model as the most recent conventional way of developing a joint model since the last few years. The result of telecommuting acceptance is that after presenting the project to each organization, the head employer measures the appropriateness of the project for employees and if he reaches a consensus on the success of the project, the employees get involved and...
