    Abstract
Due to the widespread use of pesticides and their harmful effects on humans and wildlife, monitoring their residual amounts in crops is critically essential but still challenging regarding the development of high-throughput approaches. Herein, a colorimetric sensor array has been proposed for discrimination and identification of triazole fungicides using monometallic and bimetallic silver and gold nanoparticles. Aggregation-induced behavior of AgNPs, AuNPs, and Au-AgNPs in the presence of four triazole fungicides produced a fingerprint response pattern for each analyte. Innovative changes to the metal composition of nanoparticles leads to the production of entirely distinct response patterns...

Comparison of classification and dimensionality reduction methods used in fMRI decoding

    Abstract
In the last few years there has been growing interest in the use of functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) for brain mapping. To decode brain patterns in fMRI data, we need reliable and accurate classifiers. Towards this goal, we compared performance of eleven popular pattern recognition methods. Before performing pattern recognition, applying the dimensionality reduction methods can improve the classification performance; therefore, seven methods in region of interest (RDI) have been compared to answer the following question: which dimensionality reduction procedure performs best? In both tasks, in addition to measuring prediction accuracy, we estimated standard deviation of...

A multichannel single-well sensor array for rapid and visual discrimination of catecholamine neurotransmitters

    Abstract
In this study, for rapid identification and discrimination of catecholamine neurotransmitters in the presence of ascorbic acid (AA), a tricolor fluorescence probe has been constructed by integrating three recognition elements including blue carbon dots (bCDs), green CdTe quantum dots (gQDs) and red CdTe quantum dots (rQDs) into a single well. The proposed array exhibited ternary fluorescence emissions at 450, 520 and 630 nm with an overall luminescent pink emission under a single wavelength excitation (365 nm). In order to produce distinct response patterns from a single fluorimetric test, the spectral changes and the corresponding color variations of the multichannel fluorescence probe were...

    Abstract
Biogenic amines (BAs) are known as substantial indicators of the quality and safety of food. Developing rapid and visual detection methods capable of simultaneously monitoring BAs is highly desired due to their harmful effects on human health. In the present study, we have designed a multicolor sensor array consisting of two types of gold nanostructures (i.e., gold nanorods (AuNRs) and gold nanospheres (AuNSs)) for the discrimination and determination of critical BAs (i.e., spermine (SM), tryptamine (TT), ethylenediamine (EA), tyramine (TR), spermidine (SD), and histamine (HT)). The design principle of the probe was based on the metallization of silver ions on the surface of AuNRs and AuNSs...
