    Time-variant axial and radial electromagnetic for ces under inrush current and short-circuit current are calculated (by finite element method; FEM) and compared. A simplified analytic method is presented for computation of inrush current in transformer. The simulation results obtained by this method are compared with the measured values.     Structures with time-varying electromagnetic properties can potentially yield non-reciprocity, amplification, harmonic generation, and other interesting wave propagation phenomena. To date, some studies have dealt with time-varying media and circuits, including time-varying optical ring resonators having degenerate travelling wave resonances. In time-varying ring resonators, the clockwise and counter clockwise resonances lose their degeneracy, and non-reciprocity is observed.     This article introduces a new time-varying model to generate synthetic non-stationary acceleration records using the modified Kanaii-Tajimi model with time-variant parameters. The proposed method can capture two different dominant frequencies per time which makes it suitable for synthesizing the near-field no-pulse earthquake records. A number of closed-form relationships are developed to describe the frequency dependent time-domain level crossings of the simulated records under white noise excitation.     A systematic method to design high power and high efficiency mm-wave fundamental oscillators is presented. By using a linear time variant method, we first obtain the optimum conditions and show that these conditions can be significantly different for high power and high efficiency fundamental oscillation. Next, we propose a modified multistage ring oscillator with interstage passive networks to exploit the full capacity of the transistors in terms of output power or efficiency.     This paper proposes an analytical model based on winding function method for analysis of linear sinusoidal area resolver. The accuracy of the proposed model is verified using 3-D time variant finite element analysis and then an optimization based on genetic algorithm is employed for performance improvement of the sensor. Afterwards, the influence of longitudinal end effect on the position error of the studied sensor is investigated and a proper compensating method is presented.     Multi-turn resolvers are proposed to be used in high accuracy, high-reliability applications that need to have the benefits of absolute measurement and high accuracy, simultaneously. In this paper, the influence of different arrangements of rotary transformer (RT) and resolvers' core on the accuracy of a multi-turn wound rotor (WR) resolver is discussed. Then, an optimal configuration with the aim of reducing the total cost, and the total volume of the sensor is proposed.     This paper introduces an efficient stochastic method to produce fully nonstationary records having multiple peaks in power spectrum. The zero-crossing characteristics of the acceleration, velocity, and displacement time histories of the output signal are used to estimate the model parameters.
