Modeling topological characteristics of BitTorrent-like peer-to-peer networks

    , Article IEEE Communications Letters ; Volume 15, Issue 8 , August , 2011 , Pages 896-898 ; 10897798 (ISSN) Farzad, A ; Rabiee, H. R ; Sharif University of Technology
    2011
    Abstract
This letter presents a complex network model for the BitTorrent; the most popular peer-to-peer network. Three important topological characteristics; (i) degree distribution, (ii) clustering coefficient and (iii) average path length of this network are analytically modeled. The analytical computations are confirmed by simulations. Moreover, the accuracy of the proposed model was confirmed by exploiting a BitTorrent simulator

    Modeling Multi-path Covering Routing Problem

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Rezapour Niari, Maryam (Author) ; Koorosh, Eshghi (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The location problem is one of the main topics at the strategic level. This problem is investigated along with many areas such as network design and path covering problems. Routing between source and destination nodes is done in such a way that maximizes traffic coverage and reduces costs as much as possible. Routing problems are considered in goods distribution areas and urban transit systems. Goods distribution from set of cross-docks can help to reduce costs and improve resource efficiency. So, this topic is considered in this research and a suitable model is proposed. Defining and developing of the road and rail transportation networks are main topics in urban traffic management which...

Model-free chaos control in a chaotic henon-like system using takens embedding theory

    , Article 5th International Conference on Control, Instrumentation, and Automation, ICCIA 2017, 21 November 2017 through 23 November 2017 ; Volume 2018-January , 2018 , Pages 80-85 ; 9781538621349 (ISBN) Hajiloo, R ; Salarieh, H ; Alasty, A ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
In this paper, the problem of chaos control in a chaotic Henon-like system without using the governing equations of the system is investigated. It is also assumed that the system has only one measurable state. The time-series of the measurable state is used to stabilize chaos by a three-step method. First, using Takens embedding theory, a delayed phase space is reconstructed preserving the topological characteristics of the system. Then, an appropriate dynamic model is identified to estimate the time-series data in the reconstructed phase space. Finally, the unstable fixed point of the system is stabilized using an appropriate linear delayed feedback controller with controller gains...

Control of continuous time chaotic systems with unknown dynamics and limitation on state measurement

    Abstract
This paper has dedicated to study the control of chaos when the system dynamics is unknown and there are some limitations on measuring states. There are many chaotic systems with these features occurring in many biological, economical and mechanical systems. The usual chaos control methods do not have the ability to present a systematic control method for these kinds of systems. To fulfill these strict conditions, we have employed Takens embedding theorem which guarantees the preservation of topological characteristics of the chaotic attractor under an embedding named "Takens transformation." Takens transformation just needs time series of one of the measurable states. This transformation...

Topology analysis of manufacturing service supply–demand hyper-network considering QoS properties in the cloud manufacturing system

    Abstract
Cloud Manufacturing (CMfg), a new manufacturing paradigm, enables an opportunity for manufacturing enterprises to respond to a wide variety of demands. The CMfg concept integrates the distributed resources and capacities in a shared economy, transfers them to the virtual manufacturing services with various quality of service (QoS) properties. These services are invoked to collaborate in producing customized demands with specific functional and non-functional properties. The operational perspective of the service-demand matching problem is considered more in the literature; however, it is a challenging problem in the CMfg ecosystem. This paper evaluates the service-demand matching problem...

Chaos control in delayed phase space constructed by the Takens embedding theory

    Abstract
In this paper, the problem of chaos control in discrete-time chaotic systems with unknown governing equations and limited measurable states is investigated. Using the time-series of only one measurable state, an algorithm is proposed to stabilize unstable fixed points. The approach consists of three steps: first, using Takens embedding theory, a delayed phase space preserving the topological characteristics of the unknown system is reconstructed. Second, a dynamic model is identified by recursive least squares method to estimate the time-series data in the delayed phase space. Finally, based on the reconstructed model, an appropriate linear delayed feedback controller is obtained for...

Nanofibrillated chitosan coated highly ordered titania nanotubes array/graphene nanocomposite with improved biological characters

    Abstract
Designing multifunctional surfaces is key to develop advanced materials for orthopedic applications. In this study, we design a double-layer coating, assembled onto the completely regular titania nanotubes (cRTNT) array. Benefiting from the biological and topological characteristics of chitosan nanofibers (CH) and reduced graphene oxide (RGO) through a unique assembly, the designed material features promoted osteoblast cell viability, prolonged antibiotic release profile, as well as inhibited bacterial biofilm formation. The synergistic effect of RGO and CH on the biological performance of the surface is investigatSed. The unique morphology of the nanofibers leads to the partial coverage of...
