  7. Abstract:
  8. Textile industry is one of the biggest consumers of water in the world. Effluents of textile industry ordinarily have huge rate of dye compounds which are toxic and persistent in environment. In case which they did not treat and discharged in the environment, they can create cancer, poisoning and etc. Finding efficient, economic and fast method for treating of these effluents is an important factor on the management. Combination of ultrafiltration membrane and reverse osmosis processes, has taken into consideration as an efficient and fast method of treatment of textile effluents in recent years. One of the fundamental problems of this process is the high costs of operation and chemical washing of membranes. Polyvinyl Chloride membrane has less fabrication cost and its fouling is negligible, so in this study we examined effect of operation parameters such as pH, initial concentration, temperature and pressure on flux that passes through membrane, the membrane fouling and the dye removal. Based on the results, parameters which have significant effect on dye removal are pH, concentration, temperature, pressure along with second power of concentration and temperature. The relation between dye removal and pH is always adverse and the dye removal increases when the pH decreases. Parameters which have significant effect on flux are pH, concentration, temperature, pressure along with second power of pH and temperature. Pressure has the most influence on flux and concentration has an adverse relation with flux. Parameters which have significant effect on fouling of membrane are pressure, pH and temperature along with second power of pH, temperature and concentration. The pH and second power of concentration have most effect on fouling. As a consequence, by using the result of this research and the membrane, we can optimize operating conditions of the process and reach an efficient, economic and fast method of management of textile effluent
