Modeling of Bushehr NPP TG Load Reduction to Zero Test with Using RELAP5 Code and Evaluationof BNPP Safety Reports

  8. Due to inherent dangerous on human and environment safety in the nuclear power plant has significant importance. In order to ensure the safety of the plant and proper functioning ofits various components,before its operational exploitation, a series of commissioning tests should be conducted according to international standards for nuclear power plants. In addition, safety of the plant can be guaranteed bymodeling of transient states and possible scenarios of accident in different situations.In this research,by gathering geometric data and information about the facilities installed in the plant, modeling of Commissioning test of Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) and its associated accident is done by using the RELAP5 code.At first, the obtained simulation results at nominal powerare compared with the safety documents of power plant and a good agreement can be seen. Afterwards,TG load reduction to zero test is modeled using RELAP5 code and its resultsare compared with experimental outcomes,concluding good agreement. By this,developed model for transient analysis obtained by RELAP5 code has been validated with experimental results. Analysis indicates that intended test objectives were successfully implemented. Some of these objectives include: reduction of reactor power to 40% of rated power, joint operations of main and auxiliary systemswhen the plan transfer to a new power level and the functioning of safety system without operator intervention. Finally, turbine stop valves closure accident based on available scenario in final safety analysis report of BNPP is modeled and obtained data are compared with FSAR results showing good agreement. Accidentanalysis results indicates that operation of safety systems control the accident, pressures of the primary and secondary circuits do not exceed from permitted limits and finally, the safety barriers of plant do not hurt
