  7. Abstract:
  8. Plants and aquatic creatures growth on the surface of human made structures is a typical phenomena. One of the approaches to prevent algae and moss to grow is using paint coatings including biocides. In this research project, anti-moss paints containing Copper Oxide as the major biocide and Zinc Oxide as the minor biocide have been synthesized. The effects of different parameters like the type of resin, biocide concentration, biocide grain sizes, dip time, and the coating layer thickness on the release rate which is the most important factor to prevent moss growth, have been investigated. Then, the experiment has been conducted on the specimens in algae growth and flustered sea water simulation environment adapted to standard. The investigation of morphology of paints for determining the performance of anti-moss coatings have been conducted before and after dip and release using SEM. Anti-moss paints based on Acrylic resin,Epoxy, and Vinyl/Rosin with 150 micron thickness had the most optimized release rate with the biocide weight concentration of 30%,60% and 50% which was averaging 13, 13/5 and 15 μg/(〖cm〗^2 day), which can prevent moss to grow according to standard. Corrosion speed has changed from 142 mpy to 5/04 mpy, 0/51 mpy and 0/7 mpy using paints based on Acrylic, Epoxy, and Vinyl/Rosin. After synthesizing PANI , conducting FTIR, XRD, and SEM images for results confirmation, the Epoxy resin (solvent in acid) has been added to the paint. It has been observed that in 10 % weight, the corrosion resistance is the most optimized, which can be seen from the fact that the corrosion speed has changed from 9/45 mpy to 0/05 mpy. The coating resistance is 800kW
