  8. One of the three fundamental methods in reservoir evaluation is coring, other two methods are logging and well test. Coring is an operation during which, samples from formation rock are taken, and used for laboratory tests and examinations. Although coring presents exact information from reservoir rock, its small scale is the reason of some laboratory errors. This operation is fulfilled with special bits. Coring importance shines where it could give us an idea of reservoir conditions; however cannot be develop it, to all of the reservoir. Coring is used to identify rock properties like porosity, permeability, wettability and fluid properties like fluid density or fluid saturation. Rock samples are stated in core barrels and transported to the surface. While drilling, some problems may be happened. Although WOB & ROP or other parameters increase or change, operation does not improve, in other words, core jamming has occurred, which could have many reasons like existence of fractures or sandstones. In this situation, fractures existence is significant, because fractures during coring operations can weld or fracture faces can move in core barrel and touch the inner core barrel wall. Another case that may happen, is bending of core in core barrel. All of these cases create a high frictional force which operation cannot continue. Bangestan Group, a geological formation group in Zagros, with the age of Albian to Campanian, consists of a sedimentary cycle of Kazhdomi, Sarvak, Soorgah and Ilam formations. Sarvak Formation (Albian-Turonian) was measured 822 m in type section and mainly consists of carbonate rocks. This Formation forms an important hydrocarbon reservoir in southwest of Iran after Asmari formation in Zagros zone. From the petro physical point of view, the porosity is the most important diagenetic process in the Sarvak Formation. Fracture, vuggy and moldic types, are dominant porosity types in this Formation
