  7. Abstract:
  8. In the current work, the two- and three-dimensional electro-elastic fields of periodically as well as arbitrarily distributed interacting quantum wires (QWRs) and interacting quantum dots (QDs) of arbitrary shapes within a piezoelectric matrix are studied analytically. The lattice mismatch between the QWR/QD and the barrier is accounted through prescribing an initial misfit strain field within the QWR/QD. The distinction between the electro-mechanical properties of the QWR/QD and those of the barrier is treated by introducing a novel electro-mechanical equivalent inclusion method in Fourier space (FEMEIM). Moreover, the theory can readily treat cases where the QWRs/QDs are multi-phase or functionally graded (FG). It has been shown that taking into account the distinction between the electro-elastic properties of quadrangular QWRs and the surrounding barrier affects the induced electro-elastic fields up to about 8%. Moreover, in the present study the eigenstrain theory has been extended to a treatise on magneto-electro-elastic ellipsoidal inclusions with general rectilinear anisotropic elastic moduli, piezoelectric, piezomagnetic, dielectric, magneto-electric, and magnetic permeability tensors. Both the interior and exterior fields due to some nonuniform generalized eigenfields, consisting of eigenstrain, eigenelectric, and eigenmagnetic fields are determined. A number of theorems, lemmas, and corollaries in connection with the exact nature of the solution are stated and proved. Furthermore, some impotent eigenfields are proposed and proved. The energies pertinent to magneto-electro-elastic inclusions are formulated. Also, the exact analytical expressions of the magneto-electro-elastic jump conditions of the generalized stress and the gradient of the generalized displacement fields are obtained
