Synthesis and Characterization of ZnO for Electron Transport Layer in Perovskite and CIGS Solar Cells

  8. The purpose of this study is the fabrication and characterization of ZnO nano particles and the application of ZnO in solar cells. Therefore, firstly we fabricate the high stable solution of ZnO nano particles and then characterize ZnO nano particles. In addition, we study sulfurzation and selenization of zinc oxide thin films. We use ZnO nano particles for fabrication of transparent conductive films. Transparent conductive films have many applications such as touch panels, displays and solar cells. The most applicable transparent conductive electrode is indium tin oxide , which is the most expensive layer in solar cells. But silver nanowires has some challenges such as high surface roughness, weak Adhesion on glass or polymer ,nonconductive space between silver nanowires. We use ZnO nano particles thin films on silver nanowires to solve this challenges.we made transparent electrode based on silver nanowires and ZnO nanoparticle with 18 ohm per square sheet resistance and 85 % transmitance . We study perovskite and CIGS solar cells (Perovskite solar cells that have developed rapidly this years with power conversion effciency exceeded 20% and CIGS solar cells that have good stability ).We use ZnO as electron transport layer in this solar cells . Finally we achieve maximum power conversion effciency of 11.38% and 1.87% in perovskite solar cells and superstrate CIGS solar cells.Also we used ZnO and silver nanowires as transparent electrode in CIGS solar cells and we achieve power conversion effciency of 0.13% in substrate CIGS solar cells
