  7. Abstract:
  8. In the first part of thesis, the electropolymerization of pyrrole was performed in the presence of new coccine (NC) as a dopant anion on the surface of the electrode precoated with SWCNT. The modified electrode was used to study the voltammetric response of salbutamol (SAL). The results showed a remarkable increase in the anodic peak current of SAL in comparison to the bare GCE. The surface morphology PPY/CNT/GCE was thoroughly characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and cyclic voltammetry (CV) techniques. Under the optimized analysis conditions, the modified electrode showed two linear dynamic ranges of 0.02 – 0.1 μM and 0.1-10 μM with a detection limit of 6 nM for the voltammetric determination of SAL. The modified electrode was successfully applied for the accurate determination of trace amounts of SAL in pharmaceutical and clinical preparations. In the second part, the electrochemical nature of Isoprenaline (ISPN) was investigated on the surface of the modified electrode with different hollow carbon sphere materials, including HCS(1) and HCS(2), that synthesized through two different processes. The results of voltammetric studies exhibited a considerable increase in the anodic peak current of ISPN on the surface of the modified electrode with HCS(1) compared to the HCS(2) and also bare GCE. The HCS(1) modified electrode was employed for the voltammetric determination of ISPN. The surface morphology and nature of the HCS(1) film was thoroughly characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), FT-IR and EDX. Under the optimized analysis conditions, the modified electrode showed linear dynamic ranges of 0.2-2 μM and 2-30 μM with a detection limit of 60 nM for the voltammetric determination of ISPN. The modified electrode was successfully applied for the accurate determination of trace amounts of ISPN in pharmaceutical and clinical preparations
